Grrrr I go away on holiday and the forum gets blocked up! Can someone please delete all these tickets wanted posts, quite frankly if people cannot get themselves organised, they have had 10 months to buy them for ***** sake, then the don't really deserve to go. Anyway are some of them scams? Beware of people who have only just joined the forum please x

It has just occured to me that maybe there are going to be another 8 weeks, or is it 7 now?, of Tickets Wanted Threads, and I think I might explode. Someone saying that "I didn't realise they would sell out soooo soon" When in fact its taken nine and a half months, did kindof make me smile but...

So earlybirds sold out in record time, and the fest as a whole has sold out quicker than last year, and we were debating why?

Better line up?, Everyone has heard of how wonderful it is?, The defectors from Lattitude, or the Glasto Effect (they want to stand next to Wayne Rooney and Lily Allen and have the Festival Experience)????

Maybe its cos its a week earlier?

GOSH and Lattitude hasn't sold out and its next week!

I think that word of mouth is finally working. It is a VERY strong line-up this year, in my opinion. Not really being sold on the back of one or two BIG artists, but a solid bill of quality, with a few exciting exclusives thrown in for good measure. Whatever you (the royal "you") may think of them, having UK exclusives for Joanna Newsom, CYHSY, Midlake, M Ward and Okkervil River is going to draw a few hardcore fans along. I mean, you could get close to paying the ticket price from those alone if you went to see them individually.

I am incredibly excited and, assuming the changes are not detrimental to the festival, I'll be getting my Early Bird again this year, so as not to fall into this sell-out lottery 9 months after the tickets go on sale.

I agree with Shoebox too, the line up had improved with the last few announcements.... and I hope that this is why people are coming. Not for the reason Phil keeps saying, which is that I have convinced bus loads of middle-aged women to attend in the hope of meeting "the one" at the front of Okkervil River.

I seriously hope that it will be filled with lots of people who like good music

i think having a go at people trying to find tickets is a bit harsh. the festival sold out right before the end of the month and a lot of people's pay days. if people had been saving up to buy one then getting on your high horse about forum posts seems a bit cruel - it's certainly the case for two of my friends (not that they've resorted to forum posts).

anyway, the ticket exchange will open soon and all of ugly desperate people cluttering up the nice clean forum will go away. no need to panic.

Yes I was being rude, apologies. I just find it a bit strange that people who are DESPERATE to go, have had nine and a half months to buy tickets. There has to be a better/fairer way to do this though. I just want the ticket exchange to get up and running and then people will have a chance to buy tickets not wanted at cost prices and not get ripped off on ebay etc... or worse shelling out for tickets that don't materialise as happened with GM last year.

To be fair, for some people it's a lot of money to come up with. Especially people who are out of work/studying. I know someone who hasn't got a ticket, but he's been a student all year so has had to save up to afford the ticket, flight etc.

The tickets wanted threads are annoying though as they clutter up the forum but it will be resolved soon hopefully.

There are those among last year's Happy Campers who have been saving up to get tickets only to be stymied by the faster than usual sell out. And you wouldn't call them main chancers.

The one who posted that she'd only just found out that her friends were going after they'd sold out made me laugh though. I think her friends were trying to tell her something...

My younger bro's girlfriend was getting him a ticket and now they have broken up so the lad is devastated.

I have him a flight to Bristol booked but tickets sold out. If there are any going please give me a shout. This will be my third year flying over from Ireland so would love him to come along

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
