Plan B

so I was talking to this Irish girl and her and her friends were fans of plan B. I knew that if I was to have any hope of gaining entry to her rancid undercrackers I was going to have to do the unthinkable: go and watch the utter whopper.

I can put my hand on my heart and declare that it was without a single shadow of a doubt the worst thing I have ever seen. It was like a bad reality TV act. The first 15mins was spent wathing some random bloke doing beatboxing (I dont even know if that is the correct term). Absolutely dire. Then Plan B (what the hell is that name about anyway?) came on stage - some fat sweating spotty man in an ill-fitting suit - and he sung some appalling pop songs in a thin reedy voice, then did about 5 or 6 covers in a row. At this stage the irish looked at me with a massive smile on her face "amazing soul music isnt it" she droned at me. I just stoop there with my mouth agape. This girl was actually enjoying it! It was like a bad audition for X factor. Then he pretended to fight with his band, the awful beatboxer came back on and then they left. I was genuinely raging by the end. And this was 3rd from top on the sunday on the pyramid! A prestigious slot!

At the end I was almost shaking with rage, my heart pounding. She looked at me, eyes shining "what did you think?" she cooed. What did I say? "yeh, pretty good, I enjoyed it".

The things a man will do for a sniff of tit.

you left out the most important detail ... did you get any?

yeah it was f**king bobbins. I hadn't been to the pyramid all weekend and just fancied chilling out there for a couple of hours in the sun. I ended up getting a half arsed paul simons gig, plan b's musical genocide and pendulum doing their best to ruin everyone's weekend. at least the girl dancing in front of me had a fantastic arse.

We also found a shaded spot on the pryamid field and settled down for a few hours. Laura Marling was brilliant, then it all went abit downhill. Paul Simon was ill sohe can be excused for seeming a little off. But then came Plan B!

The worse performance of the weekend by a country mile!!

To be honest i enjoyed the beatboxer before, but he just shouted and yelled! He sounded awful. Even tried a Jarvis moment of "Ten years ago i was stood out in the crowd with you lot, now im on the pryamid. If i can do it so can you...." sort of speech.

Also he was making feel uncomfortable by how hot he looked in the suit!

Que our exit to wait for QOTSA!!!!!

Nah, we left before the end of Paul Simon & went for a general wander around, returning to the Pyramid for Beyonce, just because it was near the tent & we were knackered.

Doesn't sound like I missed a great deal - deleted it from my Sky + without watching it!

I watched a minute of the TV coverage of him this morning. Probablythe worst thing I've ever seen on the Pyramid stage. And what a w*nker.

Beardyman did I Think I'm In Love? Wish I'd seen that!

Plan B was utter amazing when I saw him at Beach Break last year. Smaller stage, in-front of a much smaller audience. I enjoyed him at Glasto, but I don't think he really transitioned well to such a large scale audience.

I saw him on TV last year and even by the standards of modern popular acts he seemed p!ss poor. I would have needed a solid promise before going to see him live, from Kate Winslett.

Hes a terrible singer, how anyone can listen to a whole album of his 'singing' is beyond me. I did see him because I was camped at the pyramid and he was even worse than I could have imagined. he didnt even do any of his old rap numbers which although still shit, are a lot more bearable than his Strickland Banks stuff.

I really like Plan B, but he's very restricted by his album. It tells a story so he can't chop and change songs, there's a set order to the tracks and it simply wouldn't work otherwise. I think that's part of the problem with him live.

I only watched him from my tent, but I have to say I don't think this was his best performance, very half arsed. He probably should have been on the other stage instead of the Pyramid.

I was in my tent on the Big Ground packing and generally having a rest when Plan B came on the Pyramid. I urgently developed a need to stop packing and stop having a rest and went on a long walk to the Park, sharpish! Awful, dreadful voice.
