Having read a lot of the threads since getting back on Monday, I figured it might be fun to have a little poll for the next Glasto. I tried to include most things, but if there's something I've missed let me know and we'll change it/add it on. These seemed to be the things that were most highlighted.

It aint going to happen as the festival has moved on but I voted for less entertainment on Wed/Thurs. I would like to see it advertised as a 3 day festival again.........

I really believe that a lot of the big issues people have had in the last few years stem from the advertising of it as a 5 day festival instead of a 3 day event and the experiences of so many who where stuck in major traffic in 2009 as a result..........

I will always believe that decision to be a very unwise one on the festivals part........

I found myself at the WOW stage on Thursday night, stood in deep mud in a massive crowd miles away from the performers waiting for Ms Dynamite. After half an hour (she was late) I suddenly thought "Ms Dynamite?" and we left.

Thats 30 minutes I'll never get back.

Less time spent queuing would have been nice. Some amount of queuing is unavoidable when you've got that many people arriving in once place over a short period of time. But maybe they could mitigate the problem by issuing tickets that specify the day you can arrive - Weds, Thurs, Fri. Would encourage people to distribute their arrival times. I'd imagine this option will have been discussed before on these forums.

rearragning the late night areas HAS to be on their priority list for next year.

it really is a conundrum though because of sound level issues, but i dont really get it because you had music at the WOW stage, beat hotel and pussy parlure going on late down that end of the site (altho admittedly its not that loud in total).

it just doesnt seem fair to allow only a certain number to experience those areas while the rest are told to get lost. and equally to make it such a ball ache to get there and get in, that its barely even worth it.

Personally i'd love to see the old cinema field come back. I always enjoyed sitting out and watching a film. Pretty sure a lot of the busiest areas at night would quieten down a fair bit if it was put back in place, as it could take a lot of people. The fact that you have to queue up and often not get in now to the tent has stopped me even trying to go.

The south east corner has always had an edge to it but they are really trying to squeeze too much stuff in there and in recent years it has attracted way too many people que system or no que system..........

IMO they have tried the Que system, it has failed or is far from ideal at the very least........they should really consider spreading out the venues for late night activity more over the site. I know there is a fair amount going on around site late night anyway as it stands but the concentration in the SE corner is too high and creates to much of a demand on the area.

Just look at the map of the site and look at all the green areas in the west and all the grey and orange in the east (especially the SE!!)..........Makes no sense to me to make one small corner so attractive to the everyone.........spread it out more......dispurst the crowd!! No brainer??

I'd say rearrange the late night areas, but I know there's probably a good reason for having the system in place that was here this year. Just found it a shame as it put me off going to Shangri La, etc. this year.

Yeah, I remember the post on the deal done with East Pennard, Pylle in that corner about the noise. But not all of the events are noise making, and I feel some of them could be migrated further West. Not talking about moving the Arcadia rig; perhaps a couple of the bars, even the Shangri-La arcades. The bullring was mainly a day time event - was this the best place to put it this year?

I would like the 'green' message pushed more in the areas other than the Greenfields. I mean actually ram it down peoples throats. No dressing the message up with fairy wings and bullshit, just tell it like it is and get people involved wherever in the festival they are. Perhaps a side effect would be a more harmonious and considerate Glastonbury by and for all attending.
