Some people cannot stand for a long time, it may be due to a medical condition, age or pregnancy so those people can enjoy the experience just as much they may need a chair, whats the crime?

Reading this thread it is obvious that although chairs were a general problem it was worse on the Sunday - Paul Simon, Pendulum, Beyonce are specifically mentioned - of course that is the day that 30,000 locals (think it's that number) come on site for the day.

it's not 30,000. Just 5,000. But yeah, they might have had something to do with it.

But it's also the case that by Sunday lots of people are knackered. This year for the very first time at Glasto I took my chair around the festival on the Sunday cos I was knackered - tho it was only used at a stage to watch Paul Simon.

What is a problem with chairs is the putting-a-towel-on-the-beach attitude of some. There were far too many people reserving space with their chairs for mates who weren't there.

Before Kool and the Gang came on the compare made a request that everyone with flags showed the rest of the audience some respec' by putting them down.

Not a one went down from what I could see.

not quite right. Right near the front one went down completely, while another was furled up and pulled as low as I presume the flagpole would allow.

There were others a little further back who waved their flags all the harder. :(

There certainly was an epidemic of chairs, as you say.

I can appreciate that some people need a chair because they have problems standing up (medical conditions, not alcohol reasons) however I don't think that was the case with the majority of chair users.

    • Have you tried Anna von Hausswolff yet? Great singer, and she's from Gothenburg so guess she'll be extra excited to show her skills, especially after she unfortunately had to cancel her early summer dates.    Different style, but Oklou for me was the highlight of Primavera (apart from Geese), really enjoyable relaxed music.
    • A few bigger acts that did other similar festivals this year but not Truck, wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of these (if they're touring):   Reytons The Streets Blossoms Sophie-Ellis Bextor Rick Astley Scissor Sisters Dizzee Rascal   Truck on the undercard seems to rotate a lot of it every 2/3 years, expect to see some of these (if they're touring): Yard Act Sports Team Sea Girls Pale Waves Fat Dog Peace Swim Deep Courting   Hope Westside Cowboy and Radio Free Alice are booked again and get some bigger slots next year
    • I read a reliable source saying there's not enough time to stress test and have worked through any major financial decisions between now and then.   So guarantees this budget will just be tinkering at the edges only.
    • Thanks @sisco. Looking forward to it!
    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
