Thought it was very average, especially for the Sunday headliner. Was a show (more suited to Las Vegas) and not a performance. Also thought Paul Simon got it wrong. Some of these Americans don't seem to get the festival idea, especially Glastonbury. Neil Young (OK a Cnadian) did.

It does my head in when everyone was expecting Jay-Z to come out. It's her show, not his.

It was pretty formulaic, but then again pop music often is. I enjoyed her set though - aside from the middle section which lost a little momentum - and I reckon it was a worthy headline set.

It's not exactly a fair comparison, is it? U2 - We'd been p*ssed on for 2 days; were ankle-deep and stuck in the mud; it was cold and that bloody water was still pouring out of the sky. Everyone near me still sang along and enjoyed the show.

Now compare it to Beyoncnull - we'd had glorious, burning sunshine that had miraculously dried up the entire site (near enough) all day; because we were so hot we'd drunk gallons of (generally alcoholic) liquids.

And yet I can't ever recall being left colder by a performance than I was by hers. I tried to like it for my girlfriend but when she'd had enough of the miming and arse-shaking (it took just 2 songs) I gave in and said to her "I just don't get it." I looked at this field full of people that wanted to see her and I just couldn't find any reason for that sort of behaviour. We went to Kool & the Gang - it was ace! My girlfriend's daughter thought Beyoncnull was "Amaze!"

Anyway, point is, U2 on a sunny day would have absolutely destroyed your comparison. Paul Simon had a bigger crowd than U2 - do you really think more people were interested in seeing him than U2, or do you think, maybe, they were watching things in tents because they were sick of the rain?

Zane Lowe is a total...words fail me. Why anyone cares what he thinks about anything I don't know. Surprised he managed to pick himself up for the puddle of jizz he'd left from whatever flash in the pan hype merchants he's got a lob on for this week. "Ah Pendulum, it was just awesome, SEMINAL maaaaaaaaan". If he's apparently the voice of "interesting" music for the Beeb no wonder their coverage is so bollocks

I'm not his biggest fan either..but fair f**ks to him for not buckling here

At least he's got enough principles to realise Beyonce closing the festival is a complete waste of a usually culturally important event

if big Zane didn't like it, that's good enough for me... i thoroughly enjoyed myself last night in the Pyramid field. it was big and camp and cheesey, we got our dance moves on and had a right laugh.

each to their own, even Mr Lowe.

Zane Lowe was just laughing at the fact that LL had babbled on for ages and then left him about 2 seconds for his thoughts. For a man who likes the sound of his own voice, no surprise he laughed at that...

they were pretty frosty with each other on the Saturday, but that sermon was the final nail in the coffin.

I'm never his greatest fan but if I'd been faced with her talking drivel all weelend I think I'd have laughed and left before my shift finished as well. I'm convinced he was meant to be doing the Beyonce interview, not Jo Wiley.

I thought she was okay, to be fair though the atmosphere was shite at the front. I decided that I may aswell stay for Beyonce from pendulum seeing as how close I was to the stage. I was hoping for Jay Z or someone to come on stage. But noo :(

I thought it started well, then got boring quickly. It was also a bit too Vegas for me but then I expected that. I wouldn't say she smashed it but a fair few seemed to be enjoying it so (shrugs) not a complete disaster.
