Hi guys,

I am writing my master thesis on festivals and I am doing an online survey to gather some information about festivals and how they have changed over the past couple of years. It would be great if you could help me out - it takes about 2 minutes to fill in the survey and you would have done your good deed for the day ;)

Done, this was a more interesting questionnaire than the generic "how many festivals do you attend / why?" kind of questionnaires.

Perhaps it could have included a few open questions about how social networking sites / internet forums currently influence festivals and festival goers, with a space to include examples.

Sorry -- I made a start, but some of the questions didn't provide an option that reasonably reflected my view, so I wasn't able to submit (and I didn't want to give you inaccurate answers).

I don't think you can consider the results as meaningful if you can't fix that. Not that an internet survey of a self-selecting group of people can ever be particularly meaningful.

      Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.

      Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that...
