Average amount to spend on a tent

I second the Avon recommendation. We bought one and used ours last year and it was fabulous, it felt really big inside cos you can put your non-valuable stuff in the porchy area and you can even crouch down inside and not be too uncomfortable. Also you can get in without having to crawl out on your hands and knees, a godsend if you have knee issues like me.

At the very least, get one with a porch for wet things with an inbuilt groundsheet.

That is a reasonable size for 4 people. Bringing a 6 man tent, might seem excessive at first, but when you consider that you also need to fit 4 backpacks plus beer, chairs and any other assorted shit in there, it soon starts to look cramped. The other thing is that most pictures you see of tents have people sitting around outside them. Well, there is no guarentee you will get to do that, especially if you pick a popular area. Maybe you will be surrounded on all sides with other tents and very little space (this is why everyone on here seems to like tents with porches, because you do want more footage than just where your sleeping bag fits).

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem pitching something that size, though it depends on when you'll be getting there. e.g. You won't be able to stick it on Pennard hill, unless you get there Wednesday AM.

Actually, I've always wondered what it would be like just to have a sun shelter and a sleeping bag in the lockups. Probably a damn site easier than lugging a big tent along. It's a 5 minute job to put it up, and you'd have ultimate flexibility - could quite easily sleep in a different spot each night. Although you'd probably end up spending a fortune on-site.

I replaced my 20 year old 2 man dome with a 2nd hand eurohike 2 man dome from ebay (private listing) this time last year and it is great. Took it camping last weekend for my teenager + friends and it sttod up to holding 5.

So, I'd have a trawl through ebay.

    • Start another one...    Il go with, Florence Road -  who im sure will be Flo-Ro eventually. Getting rave reviews including from myself, Probably will be on many more peoples radar post this festival season, doing quite well up to this point, bear in mind they still have not released an album. Putting them on Woodsies for now but this could easily end up on Other.

    • Hi all, first timer at trees this year volunteering with Oxfam. Any tips or suggestions of must-sees other than the main stages on my time off? I keep seeing chats about the silent disco?    Also any smaller bands recommendations? Sprints / Arcane Roots / High-Vis style. Cheers all 🤝
    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
