Hope this doesnt happen....How easy is it to find your tent??

Defo, I am pretty good with navigation and didn't really have a problem most of the time, but friday night last year I did "loose" my tent, we was getting bored of Gorillaz, few songs in, was crushed people around us bit gay, this older couple with flag decided to move and so we thought, ahh we go find something else, and followed them out the crowd. My mate isn't really into flaming lips so I suggested going up to The XX at the park and grabbing hoodies and alcohol supply on route and starting the night early. Got up to dairy, couldn't find the tent, we was in roughly the right area but couldn't see it at all, the flat we thought it was near turned out to be alot further away and we spent about half hour to 40 minutes trying to find it.

Didn't help orginally we had pitched just one or two tent spaces in from a fire lane, the fire lane latter got filled in with tents:P

It can be easy to misplace your tent - especially if it's away from obvious landmarks. As suggested, make damn sure you know what field you're in for starters, also pay attention to the larger tents in your area, they'll be easier to spot so you can figure it out from there. Also remembering the tents near where you'll turn off the main path is a help.

Camp near to a stage or other large landmarks. All of the stages and 'event locations' are signposted from all over the site and obviously appear on all the maps. Secondly, make a flag and put it next to your tent - once you've found that stage you're near you'll be able to see the flag and navigate your way back to the tent....

....providing no-one nicks the flag - which happens to me on the first night almost every year....

I've generally found that I either 1) can't find my tent easily for the first couple of days, or 2) I am next to a landmark that everyone else is using to help them navigate so everyone walks past my tent and often on it! Not sure which I prefer (although I don't want to be next to a main "road" again like last year - then drunk people fall on your tent all night. It was bloody easy to find, mind).

I had a Glastonbury dream last night. I dreamt we were in the camper van field but surrounded by tents but then again we could have gone in the tent fields in our camper van. I then started to make people move their tents so we could put our gazebo up!!!!
