Neil, any news on an android app, or at least tapatalk integration? Just got a shiny new Android phone, but these forums bring the browser to its knees.

The andriod forums app that was meant to be coming (and which I paid for, even tho a small cost, grrrr) seems to not be happening. While nothing has been said back to my enquiries about what's happening, I suspect that the guy who was doing them has disappearred off the face of the earth &/or is no longer involved with the forum software makers.

As it happens, I had a brief email exchange with someone else last week about getting app sorted via another means. As far as I know that's going to happen, and presumably soon-ish, but at present I know nothing more about that.

However, an app would only really be a direct front end to the mobile skin for these forums - so it's something you can sort for yourself pretty easily....

In theory your phone should default to using the mobile skin when you access these forums, but I'm aware that it might not happen automatically for a few reasons. So you can make it happen yourself by a number of methods:-

1. Scroll to the bottom of any forum page, and click on the 'change theme' link and then select the eFestivals Mobile Skin option.

or

2. click on this link:-

/skinchange.php?id=2">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/skinchange.php?id=2

... to change the skin to the mobile skin.

(click on /skinchange.php?id=34">this link to change it back to the full skin)

or

3. Go to the mobile version of the full efestivals site - http://www.efestivals.co.uk/m/ - and there's links on there (the same ones as in 2 above) to force the skin into mobile or full skin.

I hope that helps. :)

This is an issue for me using my smart phone. As a result I can't really go into an existing topic without having to trawl through sometimes 60 odd pages to get to the most current.

if you're signed in it should only present the new posts to you when you click into the thread.

If you're not signed in then it has no way of knowing what you've already read, and so starts from the first post.

It does which is cool but say I looked in a thread on page 2 and come back when it's on page 13.I may just want to have a look at the last few posts but instead I have to go through 11 other pages to get to it,there is no skip function.

yup, that is a bit annoying.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
