A couple of months ago a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to see them on their tour. I just stared incredulously at him then ignored the question.

The thing is, with a band like Muse, I've got some very salient reasons for why I despise them - Sum 41 is just blind hatred. I don't know why I hate them but it might be because Derek Whibley looks like an anus, and any time I see him and his viciously loathsome face, all I want to do is stab, kill, stab, twist, kill. I want to punch the little f**ker in the head several times very hard and then I want to scald him with hot Oxo, but only... ONLY after I have shaved his face with a razor blade forged from the dirty finger nails of a Mordor Ork and have successfully perform a 19th century style lobotomy on him and all who know him.

I'm sure he's a smashing chap, but I hate the little fraggle.

What's that song where they mixed about 3 different genres - they did Punk, Metal and Rap all at the same time. The video where they dress up like Judas Priest at the end.

Anyway, that's the first song that made me hate them - 'In Too Deep' was the other one. They try to come across as a band having tons and tons of fun but you could just tell that they'd shit themselves in fear at the prospect of going through half the excesses their apparent heroes went through. If I ever feel the desire to listen to Sum 41, I'll just listen to the Beastie Boys, Iron Maiden and, as you pointed out, NOFX instead just because it means I'd have listened to Sum 41 already.

They're just a piss poor Pop Punk band rolled off the same generic, turn of the century production line as Good Charlotte or New Found Glory by cynical record executives looking to cash-in on the revival of a dead genre created by albums like 'Americana' or 'Enema of the State'.
