Chagstock

For the last few years I've worked at the Trowbridge Pump but with its cancellation this year our group has opted for Chagstock instead as the dates match and the line up looks good.

I'd be interested in any views, experiences or tips on what will be a new festival for us. We'll be travelling from South Wales and will be bringing our trailer tent and possibly also hiring a classic motorhome.

The trailer tent has been our festival accomodation for several years at Glastonbury and other festivals but we'll be trying the motorhome as well for the first time as an experiement this year. If it works for Glasto we may well hire it again.

I went last year, and it is small (as in tiny) even though there is a 5,000 capacity it seemed a lot smaller than that. Having said that it is one of the lovliest locations possible. It could be a bit windy there tho. There are not that many stalls,or bands for that matter and it isnt that well organised, but it has the feel of a village fete with lots of locals attending for the day. Having said that we did enjoy it....just depends on your expectations. If you want to chill out in a great location with friends it might be up your street. Hope this helps.

Well we did Chagstock and it was a delightful setting - if a bit windy. Three class acts: Show of Hands, Magic Numbers and Bellowhead and some very good bands lower down the bill. Superb food - Tom's Pies were a wow, some pretty good craft stalls and the lovely Chagford on the doorstep. Would definitely consider it again.
