Won't they be a bit too expensive? They're headlining Green Man which is 10,000 capacity.

I imagine there'll be something of that ilk - the Saturday pop booking seems a regular slot - 2010 Tinchy and Diana; 2009 Mr Hudson and Chipmunk (and Saint Etienne for the older pop kids); 2008 Macy Gray and Roisin Murphy; 2006 Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Doves are on hiatus. Ash and James are good shouts, both bands that do the rounds of mid-sized festival headliners with new songs to put in between the classics. Don't know if the festival would prefer newer names with pulling power as per 2010, not that I can think of many at the moment (Chase & Status? Not that I'm keen but they've got a huge live following, crossover potential, that dancier element that occasionally influences SSW headliners and their album's selling well)

I have no idea, by the way, I just fancied some bored conjecturing.

Chase and Status is a good shout, they could be a good Saturday headliner. Popular for alternative fans, popular for chart music fans, etc.

Can't imagine why you'd think that. (Would they be more a Musician Stage band?)

It's quite telling that we don't really have any idea about headliners, especially given the choices of the last couple of years - could be veterans, could be those caught on the way up. I've seen one very interesting band (one occasionally requested on here, in fact) who are in the UK around the SSW dates and currently list a day off on one of them, and there's a handful of well regarded American bands announcing festival dates in Europe around that weekend too, but as clues are on the way on Friday I'll save guesses and assumptions for another time.

Relentless boardmasters (same weekend) has Streets, Leftfield, Groove armada and Cyprus Hill TBC and Fatboy Slim confirmed.

Maybe Streets will return? The others may be too expensive though. Although any of them would be epic.

John Grant mentioned on the Bergen release. I saw him at the local 02 and he was brilliant. Couldn't give a stuff about Midlake but John Grant was sublime.
