Every festival keeps a headliner on backup right?

So Reading realise MCR is backfiring - after getting facebook twitter and forum abuse

And they give Radiohead a ring and say - we know you played in 09 but if Download are repeating a headliner so can we. My Chemical Romance are moved to the NME out the way.

I can dream :)

Reading is awsome. I <3 festivals and my money is already down and thats where i'm keeping it

Muse. they're always a pleasure, hopefully they'll play less of they're new stuff but then again it sounds a lot better live. they'll be amazing

The Strokes. Is This it is one of my favriot album and argubly defined indi for the last 10 decades. throw in a couple of extra songs and hopefully some good new material and this could be a epic set... or they'll be shit

My Chemical Romance. The make or break gig. They're album got good reviews but not the greatist reception, they're tour didn't sell out and juding by the reception on this site they still need to shake the 'emo label.' Renown for being good live, can MCR prove themselves to be a wothy headliner and gain new respect, new fan and perhaps send themselves to new heights, or will they fail, lose to the crowd and be a bottled off headliner, This is one of those Make or break gig, this is one for the history books and this is what reading festival is all about.

Cannot f**king wait

(ow yhr, and they'll probbaly be a awsome line up, some great banter at the campsite. a lot of heavy drinking and crazy partying.)

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
