Walk about down-town Sri Lanka and there are posters of cricketers advertisinig products like they were film starts. Huge celebrities. It's the most popular sport in India - there are about 500 million cricket fans there.

I think it's normal to have a test series and then a one-day series when touring another country. England only typically play Australia every couple of years, and it is an awfully long way to go

conductors i don't get. an orchestra has four seasons on their sheets, they know when they come in, they know what they play and the music tells them how to play it, be it loud, fast, stacatto or whatever. what is the conductor actually doing that's so special?
