Harriet Harman - Danny Alexander is a ginger rodent.

Video details.

Labour deputy leader Harriet Harman, speaking at the Scottish Labour Party conference in October 2010, calls Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander a "ginger rodent".

Peter Dow comments.

Hello. I'm Peter Dow.

The problem with Harriet Harman's plan is that the ballot box is rigged by the biggest bitch of all - Queen Elizabeth. New Labour want to be Her Majesty's Government, not the people's government.

The kingdom's officers control broadcasting in the kingdom and they will only ever allow broadcasting of Tories or Lib Dem rodent tories or New Labour new tories or SNP tartan tories. So the voters only ever get a choice of tories of one kind of vermin or another to choose from.

Every true democratic socialist is a republican and we republicans hardly ever get on TV. So we don't get a fair chance at the ballot box which is rigged in favour of royalists who support the Queen and who allow Her Majesty's Governments to cut the welfare state and wreck the economy.

The realistic alternative to a rigged ballot box is presented in republican free forums on the internet such as the For Freedom Forums which I administer. I invite you to register with the For Freedom Forums to discuss what we the people and our national military can do about rigged politics in this country.

Utterly appalling comment from Harman. If that's what politics is about these days then they can f**k off.

really? Why's it appalling?

He's ginger - factual.

He's a rodent - well placed insult.

It's hard to take any of the Libs seriously, given what they campaigned on and what they now say in its place. It's hardly surprising that people will choose to point that out in a variety of different ways.

Being a flame-haired love machine myself, I wouldn't take offence at being called a ginger. It's not boarderline racist, and there certainly isn't a long history of ginger haired people being subjugated by other people with different coloured hair, and I'm not aware of any gingers being sold into slavery because of it.

But that's probably because I've got auburn hair, and we auburnistas look down on the carrot tops as a kinda subspecies.

On the subject of the LibDems and there involvement in this idealogical driven cutting exercise, it occurs to me that they seem to be the people who are explaining away these cuts disproportionately. It's a clever ruse if the Tories are doing that ; it always seems to be Alexander or Cable or Clegg on the news, and less Gideon and Moron himself.

Aww come on sifi - surely even you realise that there is endemic bullying associated with having ginger hair. I think if you had been subjected to severe bullying because of the colour of your hair you might feel differently.

Using anyone's appearance against them in an insulting manner is unacceptable, unprofessional and prejudiced.

Whats even worse is when your appearance is linked to your personality or intelligence level. Like red hair means you have a foul temper. My hair is brown and i have a foul temper.

Of course it all comes from religious paintings, the victorian moral works etc. Red hair means a fallen woman/protitute etc.

As there is for being too short, too tall, too fat or too tall - and a million other things. It's what kids do, and they'll pick on any difference and make something of it, but they can only make something of it if the target reacts to their prompting.

I've always had a bit of a thing about ginger hair. I quite like it.

I don't fancy Danny Alexander though

But yeah just because kids are like that doesnt make it right. I was bullied too, but not for anything particular as i was fairly "normal looking" apart from the mullet year (i saw an old photo at the weekend, urrrgghhh *shiver*).

and pathetic adults too clearly.

Only for those who assume it was mentioned as an insult.

How do you know it was meant as an insult?

And if you know it was meant as an insult, that must mean that YOU are able to see the ginger haired as in some way sub-standard.

So it's very definitely the case that, until you know for sure it was meant as an insult, it being an insult is due to your own view ofd ythe ginger-haired.

Oh dear. :P
