My Hab Deposit

Hi

Just wondering if there is anyone who still hasnt got their Myhab deposit back yet. I have sent loads of emails and tried ringing them but no response.

It is really starting to annoy me. Any suggestions on getting it back would be great.

Thanks

I have got mine back, I also booked for this year and 2 payments went through due to a fault with the server. Called them up during the day and they returned the money instantly.

I think phoning them is better than emails. They seem quicker to respond to that.

Fortunately they are not doing the deposit thing this year.

can someone enlighten me on this deposit subject and why you are asking for it back? i've booked for 2011 and there was no deposit option i could see so i've paid the full cost up front. a bit concerned though because apart from an invoice on my account i've had no confirmation and they seem impossible to contact - either by phone, email or through their website.

is the deposit thing something from this year (2010) or am i missing something else...??

has anybody else booked and had nothing back except an invoice?

Mrs Cham08 booked ours and I think we have had an email confirmation although it might just be the invoice. Will check later when at home.

For some reason last year there was a refundable deposit included in the price. Not sure what the point of it was as you had to pay the full amount upfront anyway. This year they have scrapped that system.

We used them last year and everything went ok so dont think you need to worry about anything parsonjack, but if you do need to contact them, the phoneline seems to be the best way.

What number did you use? I have used a couple of different numbers and some dont work and i have left messages on a mobile number. I had a look on companies house website to see if they are still operating as a company which they are but some account is overdue (i dont know what this means really) and some of their directors and staff contracts have been terminated. Have a look:

...this isnt looking good to me...

the phone number on the website which previously connected to an ansaphone now appears to be unobtainable....

i also found that of the 4 terminated company appointments since August this year 3 of them were Directors and 1 a Secretary....

what can we do to find out if the bookings are still safe... or is MyHab about to fold and take our £400's with them? If so then GFL needs to know that they are advertising G2011 bookings still and using the GF logo to do it.....

:unsure::(:unsure:

Did you pay by credit card? If so you should be protected.

Looks certainly as if the company is about to go under, perhaps contact GFL (or PM Neil to see if he can speak to someone on your behalf)

Good luck

Hmmmm, oh dear, once again, mucho déjà vu and all that, although not quite so much need for festivalcaravan stylee digging from me this time around as some peeps have at least had the sense to go to the obvious places for relevant info first !

Failure to file accounts, failure to file annual report, recent(ish) change of Registered Address, Directors various and Company Sec very recently deserting the ship whether that be voluntarily or otherwise ... you may possibly be OK as it's just some major reorganisation or something but as Paul™ says: it's not looking in the least bit good at the mo I'm afraid :(

Just waiting on delivery of a report to hopefully find out whether they've just gone completely Marie Celeste or if there is actually still someone notionally at the helm. Either way, I'd be having a word or 3 with Mr.Solicitor and/or Citizens Advice and/or Trading Standards in the morning if they had even the merest hint of my money I think - closely followed by Mr.CreditCardCompany. Paypal are usually a complete waste of space when it comes to resolving potential problems various in my personal experience, almost regardless of specific circumstances. Worth going through the motions with them if reality unfortunately turns out to be as bad as it looks like it might possibly be but defo get on the phone to the card company and try your luck there. At least formally register the fact that there appears to be more than a few problems in contacting them and that you're very concerned because several hundred pounds has changed hands for services yet to be delivered if nothing else. Hope for the best but get some professional advice and prepare for the worst just in case and all that is perhaps the best thing to do unless more info comes up soon to suggest that things are not as bad as they first appear they might be.

Good luck, here's hoping that it's all a bit of a false panic and things get sorted one way or another pretty shortly :)

UPDATE: OK, it looks as though the company founder is still officially at the helm so it's not gone completely Marie Celeste although not far off as he is now the sole director. I'm somewhat reluctant to post personal details in public at the mo because there obviously still is a reasonable possibility that everything is totally 'above board' and things will get sorted, albeit eventually, once any potential reorganisation, restructuring, refinancing or whatever is complete. However, I do have personal details available if they are subsequently required due to a complete lack of any official response from the company in a timely manner but for the mo, rather than me posting stuff here and potentially not helping the situation at all, you can always PM me for a copy of the relevant info as taken from an official Companies House report (amongst other sources) if you want it.

anyone live near their office in Ropemaker St (just round corner from Moorgate tube) who could go bang on the door??

Unless you're some kinda tall building geek then I wouldn't bother wasting the tube fare  It's a 25-storey tower block housing hundreds if not thousands of companies and/or offices and it's highly unlikely to be *their* working office as such. It's simply the Registered Address of the Company and most likely to be an accountants or a similar pseudo address rather than an actual trading address I would suggest.

However, Recorded Delivery communications sent to the Registered Address ought to get some form of official response in a timely manner providing that there is a desire to respond of course. A similar story for Recorded Delivery communications sent directly to the last known personal address of a Director. But in both cases, personal visits as such are perhaps at best a waste of time and at worst not very helpful at all so are not a particularly good idea and all that I would say. Official communications in writing via all official channels is the way to go - "sending the boys round" or anything even remotely similar is not really acceptable either legally or otherwise !

News....

After eoinca provided a direct email address (cheers!) i have contacted the company founder and enquired on the situation. the response i had (within 15 minutes) says....

'Please see attached invoice, this is all you need to bring with you when you turn up, along with a form of ID. I can ensure you that your booking will be honoured.

Kind regards,

James'

So...still a bit coy about the company situation (his perogative i suppose) but at least it looks like there is life in there somewhere and that 2011 bookings are still regarded as nailed on.

nothing much more we can do i suppose until such time as the company situation changes one way or other...which i'll keep an eye on.

Just a quick update. I just had to speak to myhab cos I messed up my booking. Absolutey brilliant on the phone and were already aware of an email id sent less than an hour before, so whatever shenanigins have been going on with company directors and stuff, the service is brilliant (well, at the moment. I guess turning up in june with no myhab field wouldnt be so brilliant.)

Myhab are ok right?

I've just paid over £200 for a private tent with them as the mrs wants access to showers and toilets and wouldnt go to glastonbury without these. Can people calm my nerves and tell me the myhab area is ok? Atmosphere doesnt really matter, we have about 10 mates in the main camping area and we will be with them all night till we want to crash in the tranquility of the private campground :)
