Was it just me or was the sound TERRIBLE. The whole left rack of speakers kept dropping out and then coming back in.

It sounded so so quiet from where I was standing compared to Arcade Fire the previous night. I cold hardly hear them all night. all I could hear was idiots talking around me.

Well disappointing.

PS Sound quality in general was beyond poor. Phoenix blew an amp (probably their own fault, granted) but I could have done a better job than the engineer. So much constant feedback from the mics.

Caught the end of Paramore before blink and it was shocking. Levels were totally f**ked where i was stood (to the left of the second speaker rack) moved closer to the tower for blink and sound was much better there.

The sound kept fluctuating all day but i think it was due to the wind so the engineers aren't really to blame. Suppose it just depends where you were.

Sound for mumford and sons was bad outside the tent, left halfway through due to the carnival being louder than the band, wasn't too bad inside.

EDIT: I was at leeds

Without going over the top... they were the worst band of my entire weekend. The band sounded awful, the set was filled with knob jokes there only to fill time, they had played all their hits pretty much all by half way through the set, the entire thing was a horrible boring mess. The band are not headliners, never have been, and should not have been last night. This is clear by the sheer masses of people leaving. I stayed as long as i could, but in the end I just did not want to end my festival so dreadfully.... so Klaxons it was.

I was satnding to the left hand side of the stage at Reading and the sound was awful yes. The sound tech for Arcade Fire must have the hearing of a dog, absolutley amazing sound for Arcade Fire, the velocity for every instrument was perfect, and considering they have atleast 10 instruments it's amazing they got the sound they did.

The sound at leeds seemed to be a bit worse for Paramore and Blink than usual, esspecially the vocals.

Best band of the weekend for me loved it.But then again i am a massive fan and know every song and was stood right at the front in the middle a couple of rows back from the fence.Maybe they did not sound good further back and you dont know a lot of the songs but for me awesome

Obviously Blink's sound guy just ain't used to doing big outdoor stages :P

Seriously though, big festival stages are really difficult to get the balance right. Especially if its windy. I'm getting old now (27) so not bothered by having my gig ruined by being crushed and landed on up the front. I always position myself about 10-15m behind one of the back speaker stacks. Guaranteed good sound there and plenty of room to have a dance.

If it's a case of where you are standing then they need to employ someone with some knowledge in acoustics then. Because it's really not fair in everyone paying all that money to watch bands if the sound is shit.

I mean we can't all stand in the same place :(

Arcade Fire on Saturday sounded spot on! Sound was 100% perfect. From where I was on Sunday you could clearly hear Tom's voice going off then coming back in louder. And it weren't him moving away from the mic becuase you could easily distinguish it was just the left side dropping out.

Being 100% honest. They had a semi big crowd when they started, but the crowd was getting smaller and smaller as it went on. We were sat at the back and were amazed at the amount of people buggering off.

Dunno where they went though.... f**k all anyone at Klaxons either.
