Sly Stone to headline Glasto 2011

I very much doubt Glasto will book him, and certainly not as headliner.

A few years ago, when Michael had gone on about getting "the best act ever" or something, there was lots of speculation over who he meant (I later discovered he was on about Cat Stevens/Yusaf Islam - who he didn't get after all). One of the names that cropped up for who it might be was Sly & The Family Stone, as they'd announced a UK date near(ish) to Glasto.

When I had an opportunity, I asked the main Glasto booker if it was Sly, and he said 'no'. But he asked me why I'd suggested him, I said about him playing in the UK, and off the back of that Sly was booked for Lovebox (cos that booker also had/has a hand in Lovebox bookings).

Sly hasn't cropped up on the Glasto bill since, so I guess there's not a lot of interest in having him there.

To be honest i've never heard of the guy. Those clips seem cool tho.
