1st listen - amazing. Absolutely brilliant. Buy it.

i sincerely hope it sounds nothing like elbow, though.

Is She the blond one? I've had a crush on her for the last two years ,she is one of the violinists that play with Elbow, looks a bit like Abby Titmus!

I've given this a few listens now and have to sadly report that I think it is the weakest album they have done. I do like To the Brink and Northern Skies but that's about it. It just doesnt sound like a Kloot album to me. There are too many strings. They just seem really forced like they felt like they HAD to put them on every track. I think a lot of the songs are lyrically poor by Johnny's standards too.

I'm gutted.

Really? I'm very surprised you think that.

What about I Still Do? Beautiful. Obviously Fingerprints and Proof are oldies but both fit it perfectly with the rest of the album.

And I love Radiation.

Oh, and The Moon is a Blind Eye. Awesome.

I concede that it isn't as good as Natural History, but I think it's a stonking album. And I've listened to it quite a few times now.

But each to their own I guess.

I dunno, I enjoyed Radiation a lot at glasto, and on the first listen or two on the album I thought I really liked it. Same goes for The Moon is a Blind Eye but now I just find them a bit, I dunno, mawkish. The lyrics are poor (in my opinion of course!) and not like the usual kloot I know. Loads of the tracks just dont seem like Kloot tracks.

When I first got moolah rouge I listened to it non stop and loved every track. I'm not getting that at all from this album, and have quickly moved on to playing other albums. This NEVER usually happens with a new album from one of my favourite bands.

Meh, maybe it's just me. I;ve got tickets to see them in september so I am sure it will be a different story live

One criticism I will make of the album - I think To The Brink would have sounded better with just a single guitar or a piano accompanying John's voice. A bit like Long And Winding Road - the beauty of that song is it's simplicity and as To The Brink is about drinking on your own, I'm not sure the triumphant strings are quite right. But it's such a magnificent song, I can't help but love it even with all the strings.

I got the album on Tuesday and i am loving it. lately, fingerprints and radiation are my faves, i cant wait until the 27th when i'm seeing them at Greenwich.

If they don't win the prize, it IS a travesty.

I saw them at Glasto and have tickets for there Union chapel gig.

There new album pushes them to the next level but to say if they don't win the mercury it is a travesty is a bit harsh. This year is one of the strongest line up for the prize in a very long time if ever, there are 4 or 5 who could easily win it and I wouldn't be disappointed by the result.

Personally I think XX will win but I would like to see Laura Marling take it, but if Kloot win it I would be over the moon.
