Property Lockups

Always use them to store warm clothes for the evening (so we don't have to go back to our tent), this year we were totally confused because the property lockup near Avalon/Tiny Tea Tent wasn't there!!! Used one in the pyramid, very friendly! Will always use them :)

I used the ones at Dairy run by the Welshies from CND. Real nice people. Helpful and friendly. I dropped my keys, bank cards and 120 ciggies in on the Wednesday and went back daily for the cigs I'd need for the day. I would have no issues whatsoever leaving any valuables with them.

Someone else said it but I too was surprised at how empty it was. I really can't understand why more people don't use the service. (But then moan or are surprised when they get their stuff nicked out of their tent.)

In short it should most definitely stay - lockers are a shit idea. Keep it real.

My previous experience of the Lock-ups have been superb

However this year was different.............

Im sorry you had a bad experience with the lockups this year, but be assured if any of the staff are not up to the job they will not be invited next year (if any of us are!).

The lockups are usually staffed with at least one worker with many years experience who can judge any newbies and offer advice (which is usually not needed, as we are all there for a good time) as to how to treat & talk to customers and if that dosent work, word will soon get back to the orginisation that is running that particular lockup.

I hope this hasnt put you off using your local lockup as the chances of having another bad experience like this is about the same as England actually doing somthing in the World Cup.

I've used the Lockups on and off since 2002 ... always brilliant and never any probs whatsoever. I used to always use the one on Woods Lane before it moved and this year just used the one up towards PGA to dump all my gear in on the Sunday. Great bunch of peeps running them every time tho, really friendly, excellent service and I recommend them 100% - and all for just a li'l do$h in the donation box.

I'd be really sad if the service was effectively put out to contract as appears to be being suggested might be the case at some point in the future :( However, I must also say that I'm not entirely surprised as even I'm beginning to have "festival not as good as it used to be" stylee feelings despite not being a Glasto veteran by any stretch of the imagination. There does somehow seem to be a slight but constant drift in a more commercial kinda direction in many ways but for no apparent particularly good reason other than to generate more do$h.

Had a brief panic when I went to the one in Pennards about 3pm on Monday to see them packing up and dismantling all the scaffolding! :O I was told to go down to Pyramid field and sure enough when I got there everying was present and correct!

An invaluable service, just couldn't understand why more people don't use it? maybe because to look at it it doesn't look like the most secure of places?

I worked at the Pennard Hill lock-up this year and loved it! Everyone who dropped stuff in was so friendly and we had such a laugh with them. The bog roll sofa was genius and very handy to get a sleep during the night time shift! Carlsberg don't do festival jobs but if they did...

I used Pennard lock up and was very pleased with the service. I only have a small tent so I stashed my rucksac complete with wellies, raincoat that I wouldn't need, along with a change of clothes, tent bag etc. I also put in my handbag with keys, id, ticket and money. Every night I went back and put in my phone, camera and money left over from the day. In the morning I would take this out and top up my money.

Nice and safe and easy to use. The system works fine and doesn't need changing. If it changed to lockers how would I fit in bulky things that take up room in my tent? And then I would spend the entire time worrying about losing the key.

I always use them. The first thing I do is put keys, bank card, cash ( keeping a day's worth on me) in there. This year we took an expensive camera & that got put in every evening. That way you can relax & know you've nothing to worry about.

But, I wish more people would used them BEFORE thefts occur. If the tossers can't get anything, they'll f*ck off surely?

I used them for the first time this year. The one overlooking Pyramid Stage. Put a big carrier bag in with beer on Wednesday. Went back on Saturday to collect, when tent needed restocking.

Good service, and I'd use them again. But I was slightly worried that it took the guy 5 minutes to find my stuff. I thought he'd lost it. Found it eventually though. Said he couldn't read the writing on the ticket.

So I'd use them again for bulky stuff that I could live without, but not sure if I'd put anything of great value in. I was trying to persuade my wife that we should put £400 cash in, but she wouldn't have it. Maybe next year. Just hope they learn to write a bit more clearly!

were brilliant, had a little mix up with tickets, but was fixed in no time, cheers for looking after my stuff!

Never thought of leaving booze in them, much cooler than the tent!

Positively excellent service and as said all lovely people, we used the one at the top of the site at Big Ground and i forgot my ticket almost every morning i went to get money for the day :D , i did however put the number in my phone, they were very accomodating.

I would however give a person a number for the whole five days and not a new ticket every time you go back. Take personal details and a number that only that person would know, that should be security enough.

    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
