BBC Television Coverage

I mean the BBC are terrible at this. Every music event they do in the summer features a performance from Florence and the Machine and Dizzee Rascal  . Please, a performance of theirs from one event will do. I notice theres red button stuff going down which Tom Ravenscroft features on so I might stick to that.

It's giving me pangs though :(

that interview edith did with florence - that was the first time i've actually seen her, she looks like a man in drag

this is the first time i've seen glasto (live) on the telly since 2000 (i've always watched highlights etc. once i got home) - i'm missing that place so much :(

She certainly sings like a man in drag. I swear her defining attribute as a singer is to sing really loud.

Considering she's just played a new song I'd have to say If I was a fan, I'd be disappointed.

One good thing about the BBC coverage though:

Adam and Joe return :D 6music in 8 mins

This is the first Glastonbury i have missed in 10 years - though its horrible not to be there i am enjoying skipping between bbc 3, 4, the red button, the live streams , using twitter, facebook.. Plus loads of loads of cider.. We actually seem to have captured the Glastonbury spirit & i'm having a really good time!

f**k me, i'm going next year though!!! This must never happen again!!

First time in 5 years not being there for me. Mixed thoughts on it though, part of me wants to be and part of me doesn't. This comes from the steadily growing bad experiences with people I have had around the main stages. I have to say the festival has changed so much recently I do feel a part of it has gone.

Still I guess it was always going to grow to the point where it took on a different following.

I will probably go next year having said all that and hang around the glade all weekend.

Both Muse and the Pet Shop Boys are failing to make a real impact I'm afraid. I can't get my head round Muse having seen them on the sunday in '04. I still can't decide whether they are good or just pretty mediocre.

Stockholm Syndrome~!

Muse have been quite solid, crowd have been very decent for em too, agree that Editors did look very good as well earlier, quite looking to Friday at T now...

Florence has been all over the coverage, her own set yesterday, special guesting with Dizzee yesterday, special guesting with The XX today...

Dont think of Scissor Sisters much, but yeah, Kylie....lord yes.

I think with the TV coverage you have to dig around just like you do if you are at the festival.. We've watched/listened all day & night via every available feed and seen/heard tons of great new bands, not just the headliners. I think overall the BBC coverage has been excellent, particularly 6music. This is the first time since Radiohead in 97 or 98 (one or the other) i have watched it on TV & i'm quite surprised at just how much i enjoyed it..

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
