now for one, his club hearts must have agreed to this. and two, if he had set foot in tynecastle in the past decade, along with thousands of other moaning gets, then maybe scottish football would be in a better state!

From things I've read there could be limitations to criteria of getting into the 1st division (stadium size etc.) a team like yourselves would be ok and I think it's teams like Livi they want in but teams like Cowdenbeath will be banished and will never return. The lower leagues will become pointless and teams will go out of business but hey ho, as long as the establishment are happy then it's ok.

How the f*ck are clubs going to pencil in so many games once you also factor in cup games, cup replays and any postponements due to bad weather- even with the winter break?! How the f*ck will most fans be able to afford 44+ games a season?

They manage it in England for the Championship down. The only reason they coudnt do it for the spl was cos they need to keep a fair number of midweeks free for European games (its apparently mandatory under Uefa rules

Just had a look at Accies fixtures (trying to work out which games I'll get to) and have just noticed that if Dundee Utd beat Ross County in the cup then we'll play them 3 times in the space of 3 weeks!!

and just seen that ayr are 4/1 tonight on mcbookie. very generous odds, no?

it actually would be decent. but a lot of those teams have much better infrastructure. can you see ross county or brechin getting 44 games on in a single season? along with international breaks and cup breaks like ross says.

fair enough some don't have ush, but still, they've got access to more money so clearing the pitch is a doddle. our wee clubs need volunteers and players to clear the pitch. livingston had the bloody chairman doing the plumbing the other week.

the finances are vastly different from championship to scottish 1st division. i just think we'd find it much harder to get through 44 league games a season. plus 3 cups!

someone suggested that the league cup should be scrapped and i couldn't agree more.
