3 weeks ago i would have said slim. but im much more confident now. ive always felt that we could catch shitty. their simply too negative in the big games. and i know that we have to go to eastlands, shitford bridge & anfield, and host the gooners, but knowing that chavski have to face united, twice, is a real bonus

3 weeks ago all my chelsea mates were giving it the biggun, if we beat united twice we can win the league', now their bricking it knowing that if they dont take points out of those games spurs could be 10-12 points clear of them by the time we go to the bridge

Guess it'll depend on how successful he is. If he turns out a lifer then fine, but if doesn't work out in a couple of years and they sell him for 20m (will obviously need a buyer, but English so should retain decent amount of value even if failure at Liverpool), then still could approach £35m.

At least with installments, it's money in your own bank accumulating interest aswell.

yeah, going to be interesting end to the season. Been impressed with Spurs this year. In your 8 games against the current top 7, only one defeat (United) which is a massive improvement on seasons past. Good squad depth, great midfield options, certainly got a good chance now if can keep picking up 3 points regularly. Since you've gone on a run, you've got 31 pts from your last possible 42 which is certainly top 4 form if you can keep it up. (Chelsea have 20/42 & 23/48...City have 27/42 & 29/48).

Long way to go, and Chelsea may still turn it around. Will be interesting how the Torres/Drogba dynamic works out. How Drogba reacts to the competition/how Torres settles. Agree with Wooderson he'll be a strong acquisition for them in the future (if injury free), but whether he picks up form straight away remains to be seen.

Interesting how City end the season aswell. Still strong, but still pretty reliant on Tevez. Dzeko will need time to adjust. Got enough attributes that he should work out a very good signing in the long term but will have to see if he'll make any immediate impact aswell.

The article suggests it's the first, but doesn't say it categorically. I'd have thought it's far more likely to be the 2nd.

Yep, he was completely shit. It's the worst I've seen him play (and he's played very badly many times before). The whole team were just too static.

Ngog was matched in shitness by many other players on the park last night. Including one close to your heart.

Was just a shite game imo. Never seen us wrap one of these two legged ties up against medium-poor level European teams as quickly as we should. We even made hard work them under Rafa (Liege, Graz etc.) who was for the main very very good in Europe.

Does highlight our thin attacking options with Gerrard, Carroll and Suarez (cup-tied) being out. Agger and Kelly were arguably bigger misses though as they give us some drive from the back, but I guess Kelly is in need of some rest.

In the effective swap of Benayoun/Cole, Chelsea got the better deal. Or would have had he not got injured.

Yossi is better than him, and has been for a good couple of years.

yep - Yossi was more than decent.

What I can't quite grasp tho is why - when his complaint about Liverpool was not being first choice (tho he should have been) - he's swapped that for another club where he had even less chance of getting minutes on the pitch.

TBH, I can't remember many of the details at all now - I remember it was when he playing for a club in holland as a youngster, his mum was involved somehow, and that it was something that made me laugh out loud. Beyond that I've forgotten just about everything.

Outside the old 'big five' (that Tottenham, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton and Liverpool for the youngsters) which club has spent the most time in the top flight in the past 50 years?

I didn't get this - well I did but it took me a few guesses.

As far as I'm aware - he had a trial at Ajax when he was about 15 - they offered him a contract and he turned it down.

I said "playing on holland" - but it was defo to do with when he was in Holland.

I know I read about it from one of several books on my shelves, but can't find it from a quick flip thru them, or via their indexes. I'll try to look a bit deeper when I have more time.
