To my dismay I have today learned of my sons plans to attend the Glastonbury Festival next month.

Obviously I am extremely concerned about this - Patrick is only 27 years old and has never left Switzerland before. From what I understand this festival is attended by drunks, pickpockets and even people from the country of Wales.

Would someone please be able to give me some reassurance regarding his safety?

With thanks and good day to you all.

The festival is not atall infested with drunks, pickpockets, and people from Wales. Seriously. At 27 years of age your son will be fine at this festival.

But I don't get it when you said "and even people from Wales". I am not from Wales myself, but what exactly is wrong with people from Wales??? Do you think Welsh people pose some threat to your son???

I understand our new government is passing a law decreeing that all welsh should carry a bell, in order that real people can cross the road to avoid the smell of gravy.

You have to understand that glastonbury is a very open, forgiving, friendly environment. It is tolerated that people are openly welsh at the festival, with little judgement from others compared to other society. Even the usually fetid smell of gravy is hidden, thankfully, by the overriding odour of human excrement and poppers.

If your son is approached by a welshman, tell him to fend them off with threats of "a hard days work" or "paying your council tax", they'll soon scurry off to the pub.

apologies for any offense, the gravy thing is just randomness
