Another thread... etc. I've been reading Popjustice's tweets, which seem to suggest that Kylie could be the U2 replacement on the Friday (which would be appropriate in a way, considering she was the last headlienr to pull out):

If hypothetically I were to be chatting with a certain Australian pop 'chanteuse' in around 20 mins is there anything you'd like me to ask? about 1 hour ago via web

I should stress that this situation is purely hypothetical about 1 hour ago via web

I am literally on the phone to Kylie 26 minutes ago via web

I've decided I might go to Glastonbury 9 minutes ago via web

Why not? It's a bit of fun and would make for a diverse lineup of soul on the Sunday, rock on the Saturday and Pop on the Friday. Nice. :P

I never have been a fan of Kylie though in all honesty but it wouldn't bother me if she did replace U2. Seeing as she missed out last time it would be a fair shout if she headlined.

it'd be fun. not a big fan, but i'm willing to have a good boogie on friday night to pop.

and like her or not, she's more worthy of the headliner slot that dizzee (and that's not dizzee bashing btw).

More from Popjustice:

Me: "If Michael Eavis phoned you up right now and said can you step in..." Kylie: "What would be the chances of THAT? (Laughs)" less than 20 seconds ago via web

Me: "Has there been a conversation?" Kylie: "There's been a conversation. Let's just say I'm quite good at rising to a lastminute challenge" less than 10 seconds ago via web

Does that make her favourite now?

Slightly contradicted by:

(There was some more waffle, all of which has been QUASHED by Kylie's publicist who point out that she has commitments in Paris that night. less than 5 seconds ago via web )

... but let's ignore that bit.

HA!

"There was some more waffle, all of which has been QUASHED by Kylie's publicist who point out that she has commitments in Paris that night.

Basically Kylie played me. She played me like a CRAP BANJO."

I would love Kylie to take over. All those so called serious music fans might be disappointed but Kylie is about fun and we'd all know the words (and you can't beat a sing-a-long to make people smile) and its a bit late in the day to put together the massive stage show part but I think Kylie would be a brilliant choice. Or maybe Madonna - whats she doing?

This morning I was gunning for Aerosmith but they are in belgium or something the next day so I guess this is unlikely

if kylie had played that totally would have given me some thinking to do for friday night.

i've never really listened to her but i can see myself having a very, very good time dancing to the songs i know when shamefully drunk.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
