I don't really do hats, but I've decided I need to invest in one for Glasto this year.

Any ideas? I want something that's going to stop me frying, but doesn't make me look like a tit.

All suggestions welcome! :P

I don't normally take one, as I prefer to buy one as my 2nd thing to do onsite, after buying my first beer :P Last year I went for a straw hat, great for sunshade but a little scratchy and little to no use in the rain. A friend went for one of those soft army style hats with the wide brim (about £8 from a random hat stall) which looked rather dashing and he pulled the same night.

This year I shall be trying that hat :P

Army hat is good cos it rolls up and stows in a pocket/daysack/wasteband/ear of a passing mule.

Last year the straw hat was great for sunshade and I REALLY needed it, it was much loved. However the fact that you essentially have a bloody great cowboy hat on can actually be really inconvenient at times and having to take it off for some reason is bloody inconvenient. I have no idea how cowboys got anything done, to be honest.

Something that stows easily, keeps the sun off your neck and the rain out of your eyes, whilst catching the eye of every passing lovely through it's sheer style is the intention...the result may be something less impressive :P

my experience seems to be only women and bald men look good in hats.

unless its part of a uniform. i don't think i've ever had a hat that looked remotely like it suited me.

fortunately, you'll be at glasto, where looking like a tit is wholly encouraged.

Ive got a proper dandy looking cowboy hat that i look the dogs in but you cant have it. Also I have a baseball cap with a solar powered fan built in it. I look a tit in it but again, you cant have it cos I'll look less of a tit than you
