Mobile Reception

Been at Glasto using Vodafone last 3 years and reception is patchy at best, I understand though that reception is probably patcy for all providers.

Thing is, my contract is due for renewal and I just wondered if anyone has experience with other providers at Glasto, specifically O2 / TMob / Orange?

Well, if I'm honest, I have an iPhone on O2 but I usually take a Vodafone PAYG phone, this year I'm taking my iPhone, I've been thinking of leaving O2 anyway so thanks for your thoughts on O2!

Looking like Orange may be to best bet, looking at 3G coverage they seem to cover most of the festival site.

I'm on Orange and it does seem to be better than the others, probably thanks to the mini booster mast that they have on site. That said, I still had some delays in texts coming through last year from other Orange users on the site.

Have been on O2 for many years and it has always been fine......until last year......

Voice calls were fine & text messages were generally ok but picture texts & internet connection was pants. It's all you iPhone users hogging the bandwidth! :P

Orange works well in my experience, though texts at festivals do tend to get lost/delayed along the way so I usually just call (it's also easier for me than texting with drunken hands).

I took a PAYG Tesco's mobile last year. It was useless, got a signal about 3 times in total during the festival, each time getting a barrage of texts, half of them from mates trying to meet up.

I wouldn't take an iPhone as the battery runs out way too fast, and I'd be tempted to update Facebook whilst watching a band.

T-mobile for me, seems OK.

Mainly texts.

Phone is only really on lunch time, early evening (both times I aim to eat) and around pre-arranged times for meet ups (there about).

I have a few friends come from other locations in the country, we don't bother organizing to camp together (some have families, some don't) but we do organise a get together for a beer (or few) to share ideas on who to see, organise meet ups later (for more beers) and generally putting the worlds to rights.

Generally we text each other mornings for afternoon meet ups, afternoons for evening meet ups etc.

Didnt manage net reception but phone reception and texts getting through wasn't too bad with Voddyfone. Previous year was excellent.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
