in all seriousness, and as I said on here last year, I think tribute bands dont really have a place at glastonbury. it's supposedly a festival of contemporary arts, and I really cant square that with some shitty tribute band that has no creative merit. Now, I, and indeed you, might not like Ndubz, but even they have more creativity than any tribute band going. As for the locig that people like tribute bands so they should be there, well a lot of people like wet t-shirt competitions, watching eastenders and boxing. shall we have those too (actually, that's not such a bad idea)

I don't know enough about dance music to really comment (my moment in the sun passed with trance music back in the mid 90s), but the Dance West / East aside, surely there are some huge dance acts playing at the festival this year? Orbital, Faithless, Groove Armada? Aren't they kinda dance music?

A good thing that nobody posting here is responsible for booking the acts or else I suspect Glasto would be a much duller place. Absolutely fine not to like them (can't say I'm a fan) but complaining they're on the bill at a time when they'll be countless excellent alternatives is silly.

They're clearly no angels but few Glasto performers are. Snoop Dogg wasn't allowed into the UK until recently and The Chemical Brothers aren't called that because they enjoyed science at school...

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
