Crowd surfing

We will be ejecting anyone right out of the arena who our staff think has come over the barrier for fun. If our staff see that you come over for your safety then you will be permitted back into the arena once we have checked you over.

But if you come over for fun, you will be put back onto road G4 and made to walk back down to the arena entrance to come back into the arena that way, the long way. You are likely to miss much of the band’s set that way too, which is not what you come to the event for. Please don’t crowd surf, it is dangerous and please also help us keep the numbers seen by the on site medics down

I don't know what happens at Leeds on the main stage, but at Reading, from half way through the lineup when it gets crowded, you get ejected out onto the main road that the festival sits on (which is what it sounds like on the festival info section(YES there is a part of the website dedicated to this, so look)).

The Tents I don't think this is as easily done, so from what I saw last year, you just go to the edge of the front barrier and back into the crowd.

...and after the scare tactics from ShockTK, I can safely say that will never happen at Reading if your crowd surf, your punishment is coming the long way round to get back in...

At a gig, people always crowd surf, you get used to it...x10 at a festival!!!

p.s. im not a crowd surfer unless i want to get out of the crowd for a piss, and im not defending them, i used to punch till i realised it was futile.

I don't mind crowd surfers at all.

I've been gigging for years. Been pushed, punched and kicked in the face. Oh well.

I really don't mind having the shit beat out of me by being in a hectic crowd. Once the adrenalines in, just makes it all the most exciting.

If I had my way every crowd for every band would be like a Prodigy crowd.

Its all part of the fun in my opinion

As long as no-one ever intentionally hurts anyone else its alright, the worst you get is pushed into

And dont punch crowd-surfers, they're not trying to hurt you so dont be a twat and make it go from a crazy gig to a violent one

At a small gig i went to, 2 guys grabbed me and chucked me up to crowd-surf even though i didnt want to, got to the front, landed on my head and got chucked out (fortunately it was the last song so i didnt really care too much) wouldnt been really shit if people started punching me for it

And i know a lot of people got crowdsurfed out when its too dangerous ie prodigy last year.

If you wanna crowd-surf at leeds, they just take you to the side of the stage and let you straight back in

Used to do it alot, but as with a lot of stuff, realised after it was a twatty thing to do. Its well fun and looks pretty cool on videos and stuff but cant escape the fact youre just lying on peoples heads who may not be strong enough to take your weight. Even if youre in trouble in the crowd, unless youre near the barrier and can get hauled over, youre probably just endangering more people by surfing out.

Crowd surfing doesn't bother me in the slightest, think I've only ever done it once at Leeds and that was more because I was dying than for enjoyment. People that grope/punch crowdsurfers are much worse than the actual crowdsurfers themselves. Most will generally keep their feet up and aren't meaning to hurt the people holding them up, the people punching them are absolute dicks, no need for it.

At leeds I don't think they whack you onto a main pathway, and you jsut go straight back into the side of the crowd.

I remember NFG encouraging people to crowd surf for one of their songs last year and it was f**king bedlam. Never seen so many people crowd surf. Was a shit load of gaps in the crowd though of people getting out the way so everyone was just falling down like 4 or 5 people before the barricade.

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
