Now, now what did Debbie Harry ever do to you man! Use yer head, there will be plenty going on aroun the place. Im also taking my wee boogie box and ipod, so if nothing I like is playing on stage, will go for a wander to the campsite and listen to stuff. There will be other stuff on as well. When I was at Electric Picnic in 2008, Sinead OConnor was playing in one of the tents, so ah used ma head, I wandered to the opposite end, as I cant stand her, I didnt wish she was injured and would have to cancel, you make your own fun or go to T.

Fair do's. I'll accept the point when it's put like that.

The line-up is still gash, just as well i'm going with a good group of people.

I just don't see where the dance music followers are supposed to go to end the Sunday night if Strokes et al are on main stage and Blondie takes over the Clash Arena. I know there's smaller tents but there's also a lot of dance music fans that go to Rockness and all of them trying to cram into the smaller tents will just be pandemonium, imo.

go and see Dave Clarke, Vitalic, 2manydjs & the bloody beetroots on the sunday if you're wanting dance music, Dave Clarke on the afterburner will be absolutly mental!!

Also remember theres the likes of the rizla arena to be announced, and they have some decent dance acts!

Thats what I'm saying, if Blondie is clash headliner instead of 2manyDJs then thats the biggest arena and main stage took up with non-electronic music, therefore there's going to be a lot of dance fans looking to cram into the smaller tents. Of course there is other people on elsewhere in the smaller tents but if the larger stages dont cater to a large section of the crowd then it's going to be crazy.

Blondie if I recall costed big bucks at the Galway Arts Festival, it was something like 50 or 60 euros to see them, so RockNess for me is good value. Its actually taken a step toward Electric Picnic land in procuring Blondie, guaranteed to bring in a bit of an older crowd along with Leftfield, maybe less neds because of, eh!

ah so much negativity

Yeah its a slight disapointment with some of the acts, but there is so much to see at Rockness if you dont like an act.

Im looking forward to seeing Macacabees, an album that i loved during the summer, also Crystal Castles will be amazing on the friday... its looking great over the weekend.Everyone has different tastes.

Will check out Alabama 3 again

Decided that this news tonight deserves a post which is nothing but positive.

Derrick May, wow just wow. Only seen him once a long time ago.

Alabama 3 are one of my favourite live bands, just to hear what they say inbetween all they great tunes.

Dananana I have never seen, so I can't wait.

Crystal Castles have grown on me a bit since a few folks on here recommended them.

On top of that there is a lot I am interested to see, such as fergie not seen him in years, maccabees - soft spot for them, (I know the last remnents of respect the few on here had for me just left town) and quite a few others.

It would be announced as Unplugged so I reckon it's probably the live set, with Devlin back hopefully :P

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
