I've only been once in 2009. Here is what I missed

More or less the all of the east side of the festival including:

Acoustic

Cinema

Theatre

Cabaret

Field of Avalon

Trash City

Shangri La

Stone Circle

The Park.

Acts:

Gas Light Anthem with Bruce,

Pendulum

watched whoever was on the main stage, think it was Kasabian felt sick watching the highlights on TV.

the acoustic stage/tent is one of my favourite places. lying on the hill, just outside, not necessarily being able to see who is performing, but hearing everything, and enjoying a cider is just perfect. great place to recharge your batteries before heading back into the throng.

still not been to the stone circle. i know, terrible isn't it?

and missed blur last year.

Glastonbury 2008 & 2009

I've missed the wonders of Trash City at night - Oh the shame ... (spent most days there eating my lunch)

All the Cabaret / Comedy stuff

Ferris wheel in Kidzone

Theatre

Cinema

The acoustic tent (!!!)

Making something in the Craft area, even though this is always on my 'top things to do list', and I walk through it at least once every day! :P

Drinking at the Brothers Bar ... even though I sent off for the freebie pack last year :P

Missed too many of my 'must see' bands/acts. Too ashamed to list them, but then I find it hard to actually plan stuff once you're their and in the swing of things ...

Peace x

I got one of those Brothers festival packs, wonder if they will do it this year?

We spent to much time at our tents, we'd go back at for a few hours when there was no one to watch to get beer for the night but end up stopping an hour or 2.

I know what you mean and this year will be put right.

I know after the headliners Trash City and Shangri La are busy but at what time do they start to free up. Went to go on the Thursday but think it was closed.

We generally do well at getting round the whole sight - tend to leave our tents at 10am-11am then we're not usually back til around 4am-ish.

Only ever spend more time at our tents if it's bad weather, which I'm sure it wont be this year :P

I'm pretty much the same as Tilt. I don't think there's much I haven't covered apart from the cinema although that's by choice.

The only things I really missed the last couple of years were Blur and having a proper campfire.

I managed to completely miss the Healing Fields last year, and the Acoustic stage. Must visit there. Not seen the Cinema tent by choice and... certain random goodies that you won't find unless you're not looking for them.

I only went in 2009, and I now know where I wanna avoid and where I wanna go. I must go back to Trash City, Shangri-La and Arcadia again this year. Along with more Park.

Been for the last three years and have missed:

Cinema tent/ field, in both locations no regrets there always got better things to be doing than watching a film.

Acoustic Stage, but more shockingly the Red Flag Tent, school boy error.

I've still to go down the rabbit hole. People on here seem to think it's brilliant.

I haven't seen Shangri-La at night since its name was Lost Vagueness due to crowd issues in 08 and 09. Made it to Trash City but not right down the end.

Have barely been in John Peel either - I think Stars on the Sunday in 08 was my last venture down there.

And, shock horror, I've never watched a film while at Glastonbury. I've ticked most of the things off my list but this is still right up the top.

I didn't get to:

The Park

Acoustic stage

John Peel

Stone Dragon

Flagtopia

Cinema tent

Rabbit Hole

The tunnel under the train tracks

Kidz Field

I passed through Shangri La/Trash City/Arcadia early evening on the Friday so I missed most of what they were all about really, although I did see some odd stuff going on :P

So yeah, got a few ideas of what I want to do this year, as well as the stuff I did do and want to do again :P

Strangly similar to disasterplans comments above.

In 5 times down there I've never been in the JP tent once...very shameful....and I've never seen a sunrise at the stone circle (although I've been elsewhere on site and still awake and heard all the cheering)

A back massage in the healing fields is another must as I have a bad back anyway and when camping it can get quite sore.....

Also want to watch a film there too - wanted to watch Back to the Future in 2008 as its my fav film of all time but ended up getting caught up at the Park as it was twatting it down with rain at the time, by the time we got out the film had finished.. :P

In 4 Glasto's I have missed the following and want to put right this year:

The Acoustic tent

Cider Bus

Growlers

Lulu's breakfast bar

A head massage in the Healing Fields

The Strummer stone

The tunnel under the railway track

Leftfield

Spent far too much time at the tent last year.

I was totally gutted when I returned from Glastonbury 2008, only to discover from other folks pics on here, that there was a tunnel under the railway.

So in 2009 I hunted it out ... tunnell.jpg

I felt very spoilt in the tunnel on my own, as it was a lovely hot day, and obviously very busy and loud, yet under the tunnel everything just stopped and it was also nice and cool ... lovely :P

(and yes, I realise its very over exposed in parts, but I had a very old monitor at the time and the brightness settings were shot to pieces :P )

Peace x

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
