I love some of the new stuff they've put out, and would love to hear it finished. Looks like it's not going to happen though. It's interesting how there's been very little mention of John and Gary in these stories though. I remember at the start of 'Shambles, PD talked about asking Carl to join 'Shambles...

Why? It's a weekly event, isn't it? FFS - the bloke has his own car parking space down his local nick.

Sorry but bollocks. Say what you want about him personally but he was brilliant last year @ Glasto.

Apologies, I may have taken this out of context!

I wouldn't be surprised if they turned up at Glastonbury for a secret set this year.

Even if Reading calls them an exclusive I wouldn't think that it would lessen the chance of them being at Glastonbury because I swear 'Last Shadow Puppets' were an English exclusive yet played together at the Park Stage.

Either way, looks like Doherty is in the absolute shitter about this supplying drugs which killed that documentary film maker.

if it's really happening, then it's weird that there's remote and seemingly unconnected (to the band) sources that seem to know all about it, while every angle I try that should bring at least a hint only gets a blank.

While it's not impossible (tho very highly unusual) for things to get tied down that tightly, it doesn't explain how come those unconnected places have info.

Arent babyshambles just about to release a new album?

Can't see a Libertines reunion happening, and certainly not at glastonbury. If they were playing at the same time as Muse I'd be there for sure.

I saw Babyshambles last month and have to say I was very impressed by them. And I know people arent going to like this but Doherty was a very impressive front man.

I dont get why people seem condemn him for his idiotic drug taking and other bad behaviour like drink/drug driving, yet seem to hold up the likes of Keith Richards, Keith Moon, Brian Jones etc as lovable rogues?

Give me a heroin abusing, law breaking, supermodel shagging rock star over some tedious souless turd like matt bellamy any day.

The difference with LSP is that they weren't a headliner.

They defo try to tie their headliners in much more tightly, after the year they booked Metallica as a headliner but they then played Download - while both those events are run by the same company, the team behind R/L were livid so I was heard.

Of course, things are also dependant on what the band will accept as their terms, but given that they'd have to be huge amounts changing hands for this to happen this year, I suspect that an absolute exclusive would be a part of it.

Either way, looks like Doherty is in the absolute shitter about this supplying drugs which killed that documentary film maker.

I doubt it very much.

He's one of a number that's been arrested over the same thing, none have been charged (for the drugs side), and it would be an extremely hard charge to prove.

every angle is drawing one VERY big blank. Nothing I've yet experienced has ever been kept this tight before, so I suspect that nothing is really being kept tight here.

Some of what is being bandied around about this is very definitely false.

I'm starting to lean towards it being bull, while earlier today I'd have gone the other way if I had to chose one or the other.

Reading trying do a Blur with a band that if they came out in the last few years would be part of "the indie landfill rubbish" people hate on here? Don't get me wrong I like the libertines, they are just nothing special really.

Plus Pete annoys me not so much the drug taking and him all doing that, just that he seems to get away with it where people not in the media spotlight would get thrown in jail, It's just a total disregard with him for anything really, like when he turned up to court with the wraps on him? WTF?!

I really hope they reform although I was looking forward to seeing babyshambles this year

I think R/L have Blink 182 and Arcade Fire as headliners so far. They prob wanted a headline grabbing headliner and this would be it
