i do not even really like johnny depp, i am not gay and i am not aware of what his music is like - so i am am not asking this question for any real reason other than to feed my curiosity.

so, did he really play in a cofe shop last year? i have read reports that he did, but they are all on crappy gossip, 3 am stylee, web sites from 4th parties with no actual eye whitness reports.

I don't agree. it could just be someone who thought they saw depp, and then the story escalated. what I am looking for is an eye witness statement, a photograph or even an admission from depp. but I dnt really care too much, just curious.

The first few links look kinda credible, and the fact there are so many reports makes me think it did happen - not hard to read between the lines.

Oh and your toilet comment is about as childish as the abuse in that particular thread - how pathetic. :P

Ooh look, you've even put in bold now, and lovely Langdale has added to the childs play - I feel honored

Abuse would be throwing bottles of piss not pointing out that someone who does this should not be at Glastonbury, stay at home and throw piss there.

You obviously care enough to do a google search and post a new thread on here :P

I'd say given that he "allegedly" played in one of the small tents, there were probably only 20-40 people there and they most of them were possibly too mangled to remember.

Not sure about the Depp appearance, first I've heard of it, but this kind of thing happens at Glasto all the time, I've seen Noel Gallagher, Damien Rice & (naturally) FatBoy Slim at secret gigs around the site, some of them at 3am in small ass tents holding no more than 30 people.

I am disappointed that cross-thread abuse has happened, keep things on-topic folks :P

I saw Johnny Depp on site. I didn't see his secret gig but he stood next to me and my boyfriend whilst we were watching Shlomo at The Park. He had 4 burly minders.

So I can confirm he was certainly there, therefore I would say it's very possibly true.

i am so thankful for this thread as it has helped me realise something, i am gay!

i like johnny depp therefore i must love the cock, all these years wasted sticking it in women when all along it's the the other team i should have been batting for, what a waste of time and effort.

thanks again for this thread it's been a real eye opener. (and who knows what else?)

You're welcome.

I had a very stern talk with Mr B about how quickly you should alert your girlfriend when Johnny Depp stands next to you at a festival, since he didn't tell me until he was walking away (he was stood the other side of the other half and I was engrossed in the band)

Thus scuppering my chances of bearing his children.

Ummm......2004, 3am-ish Sunday morning, somewhere in the Green Fields - it was so dimly lit, I didn't even realise it was him until someone mentioned it, he pretty much just played cover songs, Beetles (obviously), Stones, Nirvana, etc....etc....

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
