Mr.Jayne and I need a new tent for Glasto this year so I want to hear what you've got, what you like about it etc. I've seen a 3 person Lichfield tent on the Argos website that looks like it might meet our requirements, as it's quite tall (140cm) and while it won't be enough for us to stand up straight in, it should be a lot easier for me to get out (due to a knee problem that makes it difficult for me to get up off the floor anyway, combine that with crawling out of a tent is not good!)

Anyway, tell me all about yours.

we used the Lichfield 3 man tent 3 yrs running never had any problems, left it there last year could not be arsed to carry it back,

bought the same one for this year, but now decided to go in caravan this year,

sure it will do the job just fine

I've just this minute ordered the 3 man lichfield of littlewoods. Cheaper than Argos and can pay weekly, interest free.

lol at the person who fessed up to leaving his tent behind. Must have a death wish announcing that on here!

I've more experience of camping than festivals generally and would always recommend getting a tent that you've seen in it's erected state. Most outdoors stores have a large space with a few models up so you can have a poke around. Go Outdoors are pretty good for this.

For Glasto we used Bob's tent last year but I've a Vango 4 man dome tent which is spot on. Tall enough to stand/stoop up in and get dressed etc. 2 "bedrooms" and a central section for chairs and muddy boots. Cost about £70 and it's been used 20 ish times. Still like new.

when you have found the tent you like also look at ebay. If you have a bad leg also look at the weight as you may have a long way to cary it unless you have a trolley. Tent reviews can be found at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/

The extra headroom comes at premium. With an aching knee/head the extra room when getting in/out of wet clothes or even when you are just a bit squiffy may prove worth it - that's if it rains or you are a piss head.

For me it's got to be the best pop-up tent in the world !

The quechua Base 4.2.

Sets up in 2 mins. Packs away in about 4 mins. Loads of room and high enough to stand up in.

I'd recommend this tent:

Coleman Celsius Duo 3 I've got the Coleman Celsius 3, as I didn't want the large porch area, but this one has a good porch at 1.56m, and Coleman are a very good make. Their ventilation system is fantastic, important when wanting to sleep past 9am as it will keep you cool(er).
