allo darling, according to their myspace, also seem to play on thursday exclusively. I am kind of glad I get to see these bands without having to fear that they clash with others, but the whole policy doesn't seem well thought over. thursday is supposed to be an extra day. officially there isn't even a festival on! I was expecting some no-names or short shows by bands that would appear during the weekend, again. the whole idea being, to arrive relaxed without the fear to miss anything, set up the tent and then see what's on. now, I know I will have to be ready by 5 p.m. on thursday to see meursault... I count last year 92 bands in three days. now its 88 in four. less clashes, okay. just too bad for those who can't be there on thursday.

Hmmm. Listing bands on the official festival site as appearing at what is officially a three day festival when they are not actually playing on those days seems more than a little misleading: I'd have no problems if they played sets on Fri/Sat/Sun as well as Thurs: perhaps someone could explain or justify this?

Yeah, got to agree. If any of these bands are playing on Thursday only, that'd be pretty out of order. Not a massive problem for me, per se, as I'll be there on the Thursday, but I know people who aren't arriving until the Friday and are looking forward to Allo Darlin'. Some confirmation from the organisers would be appreciated.

I don't know how much research has been done about the numbers likely to be there for Thursday night, so if I was performing I'd be anxious to be sure I had a slot during the festival proper. I imagine most people take the Friday off work anyway, so a lot of people could be there Thursday evening, which could make the smaller tents a bit tricky too - I'm sure/hopeful that this confusion will soon be sorted and an announcement made.

They did a very simple post on Facebook asking who would be there on the Thursday. Guess using that as a guide. Fairly sure they said that the bands playing on the Thursday would be in the Tipi Tent, so yeah, not a great deal of room for a half-full campsite of people.

Ah well I missed that on Facebook (as I do most things), so I hope there's room for me Thursday! I guess they are trying something new in opening on Thursday, which was in response to a perceived need, and that will bring an element of confusion, much as when they introduced the vague ring of steel two years ago and beer wasn't allowed in the first night.

since being punched at Hawley gig I have refrained from asking people to be quiet  .....but it still upsets me!!!!!

Punched? That's terrible, I'm sorry. And at Hawley? Ridiculous. Some people shouldn't be allowed at gigs....

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
