Rightfield

Instead of bringing back Leftfield, as has been mentioned previously, what about Rightfield?

It's 20 years since the fall of the iron curtain and we know communism didn't really work. Also, whilst we may not have enjoyed it at the time, Thatcherism actually worked and wasn't it Reagan who ended the cold war, when was the last time you had that conversation about what it be like after a nuclear war, has that not been replaced with "what I would do if I won the lottery."

I thought Norman Tebbit could fill the Tony Benn slot and, maybe controversially, could Jim Davidson not do some comedy.

Anyway, that's the idea and I welcome your views and ideas as to musical contributions.

Bryan Ferry (Huntin', Shootin' & Fishin')

Eric Clapton (though he now denies saying Enoch Powell was right).

Gary Glitter would probably go down well there too.

We could make sure all views of the stage were completely obscured by BNP flags.

A little number for the barking bard Billy Hague

I sacked a miner

I sacked a docker

I sacked a railway man

in eighty-four

I raised two families

my wifes and my mistresses

With chums at the stock-exchange

since eighty-four

I smashed the union and as times got harder

I counted my bonuses and ****ed the working man

And I brought prosperity down at the armoury

"We're arming the police me boys"

Since eighty-four

Thank god for Idiots for they kept voting

Not for equality but for tax cuts and cash

Now mine is a land with a wall around it

And you can go and **** yourself my fellow man

Mine is a land of hope and glory

Plough up the green field and destroy the factory floor

Keep all the skies dark with bombers

For mine is the dosh we've made since eighty-four

Call up the craftsmen

Bring me the draughtsmen

Get them all jobs in call-centres now

And I'll give my consent

To Tory government

And they'll decide what is a living wage

Go find the young men never to work again

Bring up the shackles from the days gone by

Sweet renumeration

Heart of this nation

Man life's been good

since eighty four
