I'm not attempting to discuss the merits of Kiss, I'm not even a fan of their music, I was simply trying to point out the fact that there is no such thing as a 'Glastonbury' band and that recent years have shown us that the Eavis' are more than willing to offer the unexpected. The goddamn Sugarbabes have played for gods sake, hardly a shining example of musical integrity and talent.

So there's a thing.... i think everyone is missing... IF kiss did play (they wont, I know) then they would have chosen to play under glastonbury's conditions (ie not much money) therefore they would become a glastonbury band... so, IF it happened (it wont) imagine how good their full show would be on the pyramid.. i have seen it at finsbury park years back and I KNOW it would be a mega glasto moment... shame it wont happen tho... incidently, i think if they were approached to do it then they might well for the kudos... they are a mega business but they would know what playing glasto means... they're not complete assholes...

I'd love to see this happen but there's absolutely no chance of a decent retro metal/rock band playing at Glastonbury - Status Quo came very close but were treated as a novelty act( 1:00pm?) more than the seriously class band that they are. The Download audience is very, very different in most respects to the Glasto audience, which is a shame.

Both Simmons and Stanley own farms in the US , I know that Paul Stanley is a keen wheat and dairy farmer and I think Gene Simmons breeds cattle on his organic farm in Nebrasks

So they do have a lot in common with Mr Eavis !

Before I went, I thought I was probably as far from representative of the Download audience as people could get. I really enjoyed it (apart from the setting) which is basically a big car park. I found the crowd were brilliant, well up for a good time. It wasn't wall to wall Scandinavian death metal either. Especially liked the latenight "disco" and trippy fairground in the big campsite (although it is about 4 miles from the mainsite).

And would also like to thank LiveNation for the free booze and food two days, even though we had absolutely no right or reason, to be in your lovely corporate tent.

Imagine the exact opposite of what Glasto represents... yeah, that's where Kiss are.

Do cash cows flogging the same dead horse 25 years after their 15 minutes of fame ran out really belong at a festival like glastonbury? Especially considering they're corporate whores who won't settle for the minuscule wage glastonbury can afford to offer.

I don't think glasto would settle for Kiss, and Kiss definitely won't settle for glasto.

Do you know who would be a great choice for the Pyramid stage and would suprise a lot of people as to how well they fit into Glasto - wait for it.......Iron Maiden, Imagine the Powerslave set (egyptian theme for those who don't know) on the Pyramid stage. If only the band themselves and the Eavises/Glasto could see/agree how great this would be. I think if all the "no Metal at Glasto" naysayers went there with an open enough mind (That includes YOU Eavis :P ) they'd be blown away by a full Maiden show on the Pyramid

If anyone needs me i'll be behind the sofa hiding from the negative comments :P

      I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana

      Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.

      I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.

      MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.

      Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
