So I begin to wonder about the bigger picture. How much do the boards and the people on the boards repressent the people who go? and for those that leftfield on their own don't draw, maybe a couple of others could drag them along.

Im 20 and think its a brilliant headliner. Even if you dont like them, you must think its pretty impressive that Rockness have got them to play after a 10 year gap. Anyone who see's them will be in for something special i think.

P.S please dont have a clash between The Strokes and Leftfield. :P

Just because people have to look them up doesn't make them a poor headliner, they're amazing live and wouldnt do any harm to attract more people to the festival that maybe haven't been before or fall in to the "younger crowd"

Flaming Lips and Orbital last year had people going and searching for their songs on the net.

I think what a lot of people tend to forget is that whilst the majority of the Rockness crowd is certainly aged between 18 and 25 it hasn't sold out once in its life cycle to date. By booking Leftfield as a headliner the same crowd who always go will be supplemented by a larger percentage of 25 plus festival goers and older clubbers who will make the pilgrimage just to see Leftfield.

This will give the festival a broader apeal and also hopefully see it sell out and cement its place as the best festival in Scotland.

I think it does though... i cant think of any headliner from any of the major festivals (rockness, TITP, IOW, reading, glasto etc) that anyone would have had to post "never heard of them, better check out there stuff"

I think its amazing that rockness got them, but they shouldnt be on the mainstage headliner slot.

Is Rockness a major festival? I don't think it is, it's a medium sized festival.

And I don't think it has been confirmed anywhere where they are playing, I'd be happy for them to play mid afternoon in the bar to be honest.. not fussy where they play :P

Doc's summed it up above too.. it's about diversity (and no not the britains got talent lot :P )
