Posh Friday

being very (possibly too) honest,

girls look great in posh stuff

I don't know why, but when i see the standard black tie outfit - it screams uncreative

i still love you, possibly at the level of loving a closed minded daily mail reader. i accept it, but my inside is saying WHY!!

glasto for me is about making a statement - mentally or physically, thats out side the normality of life, a black tie out fit is 100% against glasto ethos

Glastonbury 2010 is upon us, only hours until the gates open and excitement levels are close to fever pitch. This will be the last spam I send you about Posh Friday.

Just to remind you there are two meets, one at 10:30am, one at 4:15pm, this Friday, at the Cider Bus (big blue bus around the corner from the Pyramid Stage, heading towards West Holts)

I now have a small trophy to be given to best costume at the 4:15pm meet, along with £10 to a Glastonbury charity of the winner's choice. I will be judging and am hoping to rope in a couple of other eFesters.

Looking forward to seeing all you posh folk there,

Denz

I apologise for the (k)nob comment, i had a drink or two and was a bit too 'passionate' about my typing. At least you guys are trying to do something - this will be my last post on this thread.

I don't think creativity is possibly the right word, but the fun of posh clothes at Glasto is the incongruity of the posh clothes against the mud and the camping.

Having a dry year where it's easy to keep the posh clothes clean will somewhat dilute the effect, to me.

There's also the herd thing - lots of people "spontaneously" (but not really spontaneously) doing the same incongruous thing; that has the potential to be a spectacle.

I'm taking a suit and shirt. Not sure I can bear to wear it if it's hot.

I cant say I am doing 'posh' but I am certainly doing my smartest going out outfit and a fascinator and boots. My silk thing I am bringing to wear is actually wrapped around a long tube and then in bubble wrap so that it doesnt crease!

I couldnt find anything ballgown like but this will suffice I think...I may though just join you for Rolf as I dont really fancy wearing my dress in the Friday heat all day.

See you at the bus tomorrow for extra info and meetings of peeps.

Well Posh Friday was a success, we had around 30 people turn up to the Rolf Harris meet despite the heat. By Snoop Dogg's set the heat had got to us all, and only 3 posh people turned up (1 of whom never found Lucy or me)

I'd love us to do something similar next year, perhaps a Fancy Dress Friday, where there can be a theme, but leave it more open for interpretation, including anything in fancy dress.
