hmm, thats gonna be interestng cos i have a mate who will not miss that for the world. looks like we're having an early start/travelling all the way down on tuesday.

you know. i could see muse underneath U2. they've just done it on the tour, i don't see what makes it so unlikely.

The thing about bands bigger than where they're playing really gets me excited. :P Hopefully it'll be a line up to remember.

Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder what the 3 options are? They always say "Oh, we're looking into a few bands" but they never ever release who the bands who were in the shortlist are. Obviously there's no actual gain to knowing who the bands who didn't work out are, but I really want to know out of curiosity. I'd love a book that looks at the organisation of previous years and showed which bands were considered for headliner but didn't play.

Am I the only one thinking of the standard of U2s performance will be...As I recently experienced, Jet Lag is a c**t, and it seems they are only human, except of course for bono, but I can see it really f**king them over...

"But U2's songs are phenomenal. To see them singing With Or Without You or Where The Streets Have No Name will just be amazing. YES, THEY'VE REVEALED THEIR SETLIST TO ME ALREADY, BUT THAT'S THE ONLY TWO SONGS I'M GOING TO REVEAL DURING THIS INTERVIEW"

Sounds like it's going to be hard to match it in 2011?

"Well, you say that, but that's actually coming along nicely too! RADIOHEAD OF COURSE ARE IN. AFTER ALL, IT WILL HAVE BEEN 8 YEARS, SO THEY'RE DUE. AND CHRIS MARTIN'S BAND PROBABLY AS WELL. OF COURSE HE WANTS TO PLAY EVERY YEAR BUT FRANKLY EVEN I'M GETTING A BIT SICK OF HIM. LAST YEAR WE HAD THEM ALL SET FOR THE '4TH HEADLINER' SLOT BEFORE THE BOSS BUT CHRIS CHANGES HIS MIND LATE IN THE GAME PUTTING US IN A BIND AND WE THEN STUCK YOU LOT WITH KASABIAN WHO WE THEN CALLED 'SPECIAL GUESTS'! SORRY ABOUT THAT! WE HAD TO TELL NEIL OVER ON E-FESTS TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THERE WAS NO '4TH HEADLINER', AND MAKE HIM PROMISE NOT TO REVEAL WHO THE 4TH HEADLINER WAS TO HAVE BEEN. REMINDS ME, I'LL HAVE TO GO CHECK THE FORUMS TO SEE IF HE'S KEPT HIS WORD. OH, AND ELBOW WILL HEADLINING NEXT YEAR TOO."

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
