Didn't they compare the scenes at Glasto 07 to downtown Calcutta? They might need some persuading to come back I don't think they enjoyed the festival scene that year at all.

Anyone who says the weather has no effect on the atmosphere is IMHO 100% wrong.

Even though I enjoyed 2007, but it's my least favourite Glastonbury because the weather was so utterly horrid for the majority of the festival. By the end I was miserable. If Arcade Fire came back and played a scorcher during the sunset slot, I reckon their attitude towards Glastonbury would change significantly.

Its true.....if you look at any punters memory of Glastonbury the weather is always featured highly and I,m sure that its the case for bands as well. The trouble is that the press harp on about the wet festivals and say bugger all about the warm beautiful dry days.

So if you are reading this Mr and Mrs Arcade Fire please come this year......it will be lovely, sunny and warm with lots of dry happy smiley faces beaming back at you :P

I've seen them loads of times and they have been sensational on each occasion.

After the massive headliners that seem to be in place this year, I pray for 3 brand new ones in 2011. I have said it before but I hope for:

fri arcade fire

sat elbow

sun flaming lips

Those headliners would blow out the water this years "superbands"

I am in the 'I love Arcade Fire but was mildly disappointed in 07' gang.

It was the weather really, and the fact the Other Stage was packed. I only nipped to the loo after Rufus and couldn't get back anywhere near to where we were.

However,

THIS WOULD BE THE BEST BOOKING OF 2010!

if it happened. Sunset slot or headlining the Pyramid please.

As a huge fan, any other year I would say they should be given the shot at being a Pyramid headliner as I've no doubt they'd pull it off. This year is looking like it may be an exception so sunset slot or Other stage headliner might have to do.

    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
    • I dunno - I thought that initially but I'm, reluctantly, edging towards not happening as it stands. Will continue to dig where I can, though.   Re 2028 - I wouldn't be confident. If this is the second time they've tried and it's gone belly up, it could be a case of just write it off.
    • What do you think the lowest price the Weekend tickets for Leeds will hit?    Currently £210 before Twickets fees?   Maybe £140-150? Or less?
