No point, it is highly agreed on on these here forums. They are good live, but the best they certainly are not.

One scientific fact tho, their last two albums are the most vile pieces of music ever. I would rather cut my legs off than hear anything from it again. I do believe they will headline a night, so hoping someone outstanding will play somewhere the same time, or my legs remain at Glasto forever, leaving the rest of my body permanently jealous!

I'm seeing them next week at the O2 arena, however the setlist doesn't blow me away. I reckon they will ask eavis if they can have a full on orchestra, if he doesn't agree i think Leeds and Reading will let them do it. Personally i think they will be at Leeds/Reading

Saw them in Glasgow last night and can't say I was overly impressed. Amazing set design and light/laser show and 'polished' performance, but the new material is so weak (in my opinion) that even though they played some earlier stuff (as in before the last two albums) it was preceded and followed by utter dross. There was too little time to get into it. And I think someone posted on here about the show being very choreographed - it really did have that kind of feel to it. There didn't seem to be any spontaneity at all.

I'm probably not adding anything to what's already been said in this thread, but I'd hoped to see what this 'greatest live band' tag was all about. At least I'll be free to see other stuff if they headline.

Saw them last night in Birmingham and they were on top form. After this, I am SERIOUSLY hoping they play Glasto - it is just what the 40th needs. Absolutely remarkable stage setup & light show.

I can understand people's points on here that it all looked very choreographed, however this can be said for the most part of live bands in the middle of a long tour. It would be ridiculous for them to do everything different every night. Even if it was choreographed to be remarkable, at least it was remarkable.

And although parts of the new album are absolute dross (Guiding Light) the atmosphere was so electric all the way back to the sound desk it didn't particularly bother me, or seemingly anyone else.

I'm always suspicious of posts that start with a phrase like "Truly" or "Honestly" at the best of times. Does that mean every other post that user has made without "Truly" or "Honestly" at the start of it is full of lies?

Or is it because the post that starts Truly or Honestly is full of lies? Eitheway, the users posts are discredited. In much the case here. Best live band in the world? Who is the best dead band?

Stupid post.

Hmm, questionable if it will be Wembley again considering they only played it 3 years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if it's held at Twickenham or somewhere like the Emirates.

I remember they announced their Wembley Stadium shows 4 or 5 days after they'd done the last dates of the UK tour in 2006, so wouldn't be surprised if dates are announced in the next week or two. Hopefully there'll be a gap for Glasto in there as well.

Again? I dunno what to think about that to be fair, kind of takes the sentiment away from last time they did it if it's going to be an albumly thin. Shame really, thought maybe they'd do Twickenham or Hyde Park this time, just to make last time stay special, then maybe do Wembley in another few years or something. Hows about Carrow Road..?!

just doing a bit of research to see if anything can be presumed from the stadium shows....

Where acts have played Wembley in June or July, there's a history of them also sometimes playing festivals.

Where acts have played Wembley in September, there's no history of also playing festivals.

So it'll be interesting to see when the Muse show(s?) are.

    • I think we have to trust their reasons to take a break now
    • Fair enough! I've never heard it formally addressed, but thanks for the education!
