i completley agree as the author of this thread that i havent seen every live band in the world although i have been to multiple festivals and been to over 30 gigs and havent seen a band better than Muse, if anyone that has seen muse live can say they've honestly seen a better performance and level of intensity than muse put on i'd be suprised.

it is obviously an opinion but i feel like it isn't just a fan boy comment.

as a headline act muse are about as good as they come!

A whole thirty gigs hey. Wow. Well then I'll bow to your superior knowledge.

Oh, wait. Let me think. Oh yes, I've got it now. Guns N' Roses at the Marquee club in 1988 was a amazing gig, and was miles better than the one occassion that I watched Muse.

Can't comment as i wasnt alive, but yeah im sure there are many great live acts out there, personally i havent seen a better live band than muse, i dont get all this muse hate anyways after their 2004 performance!

But yeah maybe rephrased as the current best live band would be better, they shit all over the other rumours for this years festival anyways.

Seen Muse five times; first was just before Showbiz came out supporting Skunk Anansie in Exeter....good band, but seen whole load better/more enjoyable.

edit: the band in your avatar for one, especially birmingham academy on frances the mute tour; though probably say I enjoyed brixton 2008ish and latitude more than muse aswell.

I don't think people would disagree with that. I'm championing an informal campaign for people not to use the superlative when describing theif favoured band, unless there is undeniable proof of it. At this moment in time it's JaguarSkills and I who form this formidable fighting force. Anyone else is free to join. Alliteration optional :(

With you.

As long as the faction also intends to stamp down on anyone going into a thread about an act they hate, saying 'x are shit and if they play my Glasto will be ruined'.

Because they do my nut in.

Critical analysis? Good.

Self important bollocks like the above? Bad.

Right that's it then. It's me, the JaguarSkills creature and the Langdale Wolf. An unholy triumverate if I ever saw one.

I'll write us up a manifesto, which will needed to be ratified by all of us, and then we will crush those who dare use superlative adjectives to describe their favourite band without substantive evidence , point and ridicule those who moan about other bands - with the exception of anyone related to Simon Cowell - and Wolf and I can occasionally perv over pictures of Polly Walker. Right. I'll get to it.

No mate, no. It should be a subversive, almost guerilla organisation, based from a thread in the depths of the Glasto MyFestivalGroups forum, from where we will strike ninja style. I have been perfecting hidden-forum, double-posting style moves.

Although, having said that, the stickied bit could well be inevitable what with pictures of Polly Walker.

Is the Jaguarskills creature a member of that forum? We need to co-ordinate our attacks from there.

Haha! One day you'll look back on this comment and laugh as much as I am.

I've been to quite a few festivals and more than 31 gigs and I've also seen Muse (mind you it was quite a while ago, 1999 or 2000 I think) and I've seen many many bands that I've enjoyed more than Muse. But it all means nothing because I don't like Muse's music so obviously I'm not going to enjoy their live performance that much. They're OK but I find them rather boring. The bands that I prefer to Muse you possibly wouldn't like, no big deal.

I'd also like to join the official formidable fighting force against the use of the word 'best' when describing a band if there's still space free.
