Decided not to go this year, first time I haven't been since 1999. Didn't even try and get a ticket which was weird in itself, had a few texts yesterday asking if I had my ticket or did I want one as mates had the page up, all turned down. It's weird as I always thought if it was on I would be there if I could.

Don't know if I'm going to try something else, fancy something in Holland or might just go away for the week.

Reasons for not going are, mates that used to go aren't going and to be honest I just didn't enjoy this years festival much at all so I have bitten the bullet.

So has anyone else decided not to go??

I didn't bother last year but in all honesty didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. I'll try for me and the missus as and when tickets come up but we are not too fussed either way as wouldn't mind doing Sonar next year.

Can get a trader ticket for myself but unfortunate not for the other half too so thats not an option this year.

Didn't even think about the ticket sale till lunchtime yesterday and never even got a single urge.. Would love to return one year but only when the campervanners are allowed a separate entrance with no searching!! :huh:

Also tho, it allows us to do Beat-Herder, which is an absolute gem of a festival, only £60 and 40mins away...no contest :):):)

Missed 08 as 07 was horrible and the group we went with had changed. However, after missing it like mad we went back last year with a smaller group, took the whole festival in a more leisurely way and camped in a slightly different spot.... led it to being the best festival since the 1st year we went.

I have got a ticket this year, but I know how you feel. I'm a Glasto old-timer, went every year it was on from 1993 - about 2001. Then, for a variety of reasons I didn't go until 2008. Every ticket day felt very odd, although i never used to get really bothered until it had completely sold out.

I also really struggled when the festival was on as I live in Bristol and found it rather unbearable watching all the festival-goers on their way to Worth Farm....

When i finally returned in 2008 I wondered why on earth i'd stayed away so long, but i think the break did me good. I've really enjoyed the last two years and I have a renewed love of Glasto :lol:

same here....enjoyed 2009 but i think our tolerance levels were pushed at times and we need a break (i think it was the camp chairs pushed us over the edge... :rolleyes: ).....

didnt feel too bad sunday morning but reality bit hard when it sold out sunday evening.... :rolleyes:

of course i'm now already worried about getting a ticket in 2011....so in a weird way i'm somewhat relieved that the magic hasn't gone and we still want to go again. almost certainly going to go on Sunday in 2010 though....and attempt to cram 5 days into 1 :)
