I have my holiday booked but the girl I go with is on placement wither her uni course so needs to sort something out.

I should be ok getting the week off, the only problem is trying to sort out time off for Rockness a few weeks before.

I take two weeks off from the Saturday before and it is an unwritten rule in my office that no-one is allowed hols at Glasto time (only allowed one person off at a time)!

I'm lucky though that no-one else at my work goes to Glasto - in fact they all think I am mad because I take it as my summer holidays!!

Apparently I can put in for holiday now, which is news to me! So me and the other guy in my team are putting it in tomorrow, I'm just nervous because if one person is on holiday that normally means that no-one else can be off over the same time!!

the tough question is how long to take off? I don't get enough holiday imo as it is

I work nights so it's tough, if I work tuesday night I could leave early weds morning, but i'd have had no sleep and feel pretty crappy - but taking tuesday off means another day from my holidays gone!!!

Mine's an either/or situation in that out of 7 of us on my watch only 1 can be off, but with it not being school holidays I usually expect to get it. However I can't even apply until at least January as we have to negotiate between the 7 of us

That said, I will be off. I'm not saying what I do as I and everyone I work with are consumate professionals, but this is the one time of the year when work can kiss my considerable ass, if need be.

I'll be booking a half day on the Tuesday, then off weds-Mon and back to work, albeit a bit groggy on the Tuesday after.

Already in and sorted, Glasto's the last week of a 3 month sabbatical, so it's perfect timing.

Going back to work on the Wednesday after Glasto is going to kill me
