Wasnt complaining!

Actually I've proven my own point inadvertently - Modest Mouse aren't my favourite but I really like Here we go magic, Phil Selway is fascinating booking and I've heard one track by Freelance Whales and I'm in love!

I don't think they'll do that. I know they were surprised at the popularity of The New Pornographers, but I'd be most surprised if they bumped them up headline status so soon. Bearing in mind how late they announced The Hold Steady as headliners last year, it's not like they wouldn't have time to tap someone else up.

I don't think I'm expecting to see many "big" names in the final announcement, although someone else from Bella Union wouldn't surprise me. EOTR and Bella Union seem to go fairly hand-in-hand, but as far as I know there's only two artists on the bill (Mountain Man and The Low Anthem). Wouldn't be surprised to see John Grant added and am keeping my fingers crossed for The Acorn and/or Ohbijou again.

I also heard a long time ago that Dan Mangan was playing, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

I guess we'll find out in the next week.

    • Missing the festival this year? Want a bit of nostalgia for the old days? Local to Manchester? Our community venue in Stretford (Trafford) are showing the premiere of  Glastonbury the Movie, 30th anniversary cut with q&a with the director! It's on Saturday 6th June, hope some of you can make it. And maybe even spot yourself in the crowd! We have a cameo in the closing credits 😁 unless it's been cut in the new edit.   https://stretfordpublichall.org.uk/event/glastonbury-the-movie-30th-anniversary-cut-12a/
    • Hundreds, if not a thousand already
    • Define huge in numbers!!
    • Oh, I'd read about agreements with the Tories but fair enough. That's more reasonable.   I don't think Green/Tory in rural areas is that weird. I don't really think the Greens are the saviours of the left like many. A lot of long-standing Greens have been NIMBY pro-environment centre-right ex-Tories. I'm probably voting Green because I respect my local branch and they're one of only two parties not doing hate speech (sincere or performative).   I don't really support full PR either. I hate party-list systems and value the constituency links. I actually thought AV was an excellent balance, (really I want AV+), but I think with the collapse of the 2.5 party system FPTP has to go. I also need to explicitly say that I wouldn't even rank Labour within AV now.
