loving these remasters, got all the stereo ones, looking forward to hearing the mono version of pepper though as that is meant to be the way to hear it the beatles have said. Don't worry i shall be buying one of the box sets when i have the cash. Most likely stereo as that contains the full studio album discography! Been watching my anthology dvds again, f**king amazing

Just watched the repeat of The Beatles on record on BBC4 just now as I missed it last night, Was good, Nothing i didn't already know but still worth a watch, Seems like they used alot of interviews from the Anthology series. It's also avaliable on the BBCi player I think for anyone who is interested!

My favourite programme was the Maysle brothers documentary on their first trip to the US. Just a bunch of regular, amazingly talented musicians, barely aware of what's going on around them, having a laugh...

and the appearances on the Ed Sullivan show... amazing (thankfully pretty much the complete performances). Seeing them playing This Boy, note perfect harmonies, minimal playing necessary, just a lovely song perfectly played. John's voice in the middle 8 ("that boy, won't be happy, 'til he's seen you cry I, I, I,") is spine tingling.

Just makes any claims that Oasis were like The Beatles more preposterous than ever... ;)

Watching that now on Sky +.

It's brilliant.

I've enjoyed all the programmes. But as far as I am concerned, The Beatles On Record should have been at least a couple of hours long.

Macca for Glasto 2010. One of the few remaining acts I want to see before I'm dead.

Yeah i agree i would have liked to have seen some new interviews aswell instead of taken it from the anthology, The documentary did feel a bit rushed!

I liked it. Seen it all already but the studio chat was great, hadnt heard some of it before. Every second of unheard Beatles stuff is gold to me. The pace of the documentary really nailed what they did, an unmatched 8 year assault on pop music.

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
