This is the first year I think that I've not been given bin bags on the way in. Fortunately we had enough carrier bags to get by.

I don't think having skips or metal bins in the campsites is the answer, and I don't think leaving tied up bin bags where your tent was is an issue. Presumably they can drive a trailer through the empty campsites and pick these up far easier than attempting to collect campsite rubbish through the weekend.

The issues are random detritus and crap (literally) strewn across fields which must take an age to clear up, and people regarding tents and chairs as one use disposable items.

I think selling chairs and tents onsite is a contributory factor as it encourages people to come without these items and end up with more stuff than they can manage at the end of the fest.

Maybe charging a "tax" on these would encourage people to take their own and help pay for the clean up operation of people who don't.

Also kit sold should be of a minimum standard, and not break within 3 hours (like the post above).

thats bad, HOWEVER its the organisers fault. they provided ZERO big metal bins to put rubbish in, over the whole duration of the festival. had they had these dotted around each camping area and emptied several times a day this wouldnt be quite so bad.

same with bins in main areas... hardly emptied and overflowing so what was the point in throwing ur rubbish in there... it was only going to fall off anyway.

bit ironic they claim 'love the farm, leave no trace' when they cant even provide sufficient bins.

Another thing, people complaining of where to put their filled bin bags during the weekend need to think either about how much rubbish they are generating, or put up with having their bin bags in their campsite.

The system is simple, they give you bags for your rubbish, you put rubbish in the bags, the bags get collected at the end of the festival when the site is clear, the only problem seems to be people's inability to grasp stage 2 of the procedure.

Have to say I brought along some massive binbag bags and did a good clear up of rubbish within a 10 yard radius of me, yes other peoples rubbish as well as mine and some pretty disgusting stuff they left behind too. As for all the tents, airbeds, gazebos, sleeping bags, its all pretty disgusting. people should be ashamed.

That looks like a fantastic idea.

Looks like we've actually got several workable ideas to send to GFL, maybe it's time to write this up for them?

I paid £175 and for that kind of money I deserve to have my stuff cleaned up for me.

FFS, there are a lot of people getting murdered every day and people want to make an issue of some rubbish in a field. (Rubbish which the festival is prepared to clear and has probably cleared by now)

:)

James Hunt ryhmes with ?

Seriously, there are more important things to be concerned about. The cost of clearing the rubbish is built into the ticket price. Nobody leaving tents and rubbish thought it would be there for months and could possibly kill a cow. It's not like leaving litter on the streets, which I don't do.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
