Four years after retiring from Glasto and I can honestly say this is the first time I'm really, really wishing I was there at Worthy Farm again.

Time marches on and other commitments (notably a young child) take over, but I'm v v jealous of everyone who has a ticket this year.

Anybody else got that gnawing feeling that's only made worse by a compulsion to visit the eFestivals forum???

Been going every year since 1982. Normally down there the sunday before as I work there now.

This year I have a wedding to go to (an important one for us so no dipping out)

Been a hard week. Only really come on here around festi time but have still be looking in. Really want to be sat on a sofa with a beer right now.

you've had your 5 days of fun, booze and rugs and now you're a mardy, emotional wreck stumbling cock-eyed back into the glaring white lights of air-conditioned reality, scrabbling to pick up the tattered threads of your day-to-day working life - with your head still smarting from the endless Mojitos, exotic cigarettes and Ajax you scored in a field at 3am last Saturday night from some dodgy-looking bloke with a glow-stick for a nose-ring.

For what goes up, must come down… and when your happy gland gives up the ghost on the Forum, preferably humiliating yourself in grotesque fashion along the way, we love it - and the more monumental the moaning, the more of those all-important points are up for grabs… and as we all know, what do points make?

what defines a true Glastonbury comedown is "the fastidious attention to detail and occupation with the seemingly trivial aspects of the festival, bolstered by the absence of any balanced or reasoned comment whatsoever - while to everyone else it is quite ball-graspingly obvious just how much you got off your face and had a really, really great time."

Judges will be looking at style, inconsistency, irrelevance, frothing and raw, unbridled ranting.

This is the first glasto I've missed since 2003. No excuses really, I was just was slack when the tickets came out and I didnt really know anyone that was up for going this year.

Feel so gutted that I am not going this year!! :-(

I'm not coping at all. But I keep posting (not on here - I can't bring myself to look at anything other than the weather thread).

I have told all my mates who aren't there not to text, and to refrain from posting boasting Facebook status updates (why the f**k they need to go on Facebook when they're there is quite beyond me).

I refuse to watch any of the coverage on TV.

And I can't listen to any bands on my ipod that remind me of Glastonbury moments (which actually comes to a suprisingly large chunk of my collection).

It's purgatory.

Without a doubt this is the first weekend since our little girl arrived where i've even slightly pined to go back to those carefree pre-parental days. Just seeing the sun outside is making think how great it would be to be sat under the flags on Jazz world getting hammered on Brothers pear and smoking myself silly. I want to try and avoid all things Glastofied but I just can't help it. I have a feeling I may well shed a tear or 2 when I watch the Boss on TV on Saturday night

Hello mate, good to see (?) you again (and oddly it makes me happier that a weather thread veteran is also in the same boat as me).

I'll be back next year no doubt. I skipped Weather Watch in 07 due to being out of the country, and last year I was just too busy (plus Jackone seemed to be doing a proper, grown up job of it!). I might bring it back next year, it was fun in 05 in particular.

You doing next year? Kids Field with the nipper or weekend of sans-child hedonism?

I am getting thru as I have a Dhol Foundation gig followed by a reggae soundclash on Friday, a cider festival on the Saturday and Sunday, a Loonaloop gig in the week and the wonderful Beat-Herder festival next weekend...Sunday Dub Pistols, Nucleus Roots, Loonaloop and Banco De Gaia...in that order...on the main stage...whoop!!

Yes - I am delighted to announce that next year, I return. The wife came last year when she was 3 months pregant (her first ever festival) and although she enjoyed it, it's not really her thing so she's staying at home with the cub whilst I get Newcastled for 5 days. The negotiations were hard, but it's my 30th in September 2010 so she's agreed I can go for an early birthday treat, bless her.

There's just no way I could look after the baby whilst I was there. I see really young kids there and I honestly don't know how the parents do it - if they can and they're happy to, 'nuff respect to them, but I can't even look after myself properly when I'm there.

I did go a bit crazy on the weather thread last year (alongside dear William of course) and have missed all the ups and downs of the weather predicting/guessing/ranting. Jackone became something of an idol then a nemesis, but his updates were very good, but it wasn't GWW!

I reckon we can beat 300 pages on next year's weather thread, which should start next Tuesday so give us some time. We can do this people - who's with me?
