A quick bit of research suggests he will do Dancing in the Dark. He definitely won't do Born in the USA and he only plays Streets of Philadelphia in Philadelphia.

The Stones are an interesting one. They have never really made a great album (I love them by the way). Maybe Sticky Fingers or Let it Bleed, but nothing ground breaking. They do though have an arsenal of songs and I guess thats what gives the longevity. Will be interesting to see who is around in the future for sure!

My bet is Muse will be one of the only current acts that will do it (20 years from now say). We shall see.

I'd disagree with the ground breaking bit for the Stones - they broke new ground with their more poorly received albums (such as Emotional Rescue). They get ignored cos trad Stones fans don't much like them.

But my money would be on Muse of the newer crop too - they certainly look the best bet.

No it doesn't, saying kasabian sold out Heaton Park and Wembley 6 nights, when they did/will do 6 nights at those two venues implies exactly what i intended it to. Don't blame me if you should of gone to specsavers.

Kasabian are good and I will be seeing them on Saturday. But Bruice Springsteen is a legend, even if you dont like him you have to admit he will go down in History.

Which is more than you can say for most of the bands today. The only band i can see myself boasting to my kids about seeing is Muse.

U2, Radiohead, Coldplay, REM, Chili Peppers...etc etc etc. Like them or loathe them all, they're all much more successful than Kasabian (or Muse for that matter) and will all be still played in 30 years (if not actively still playing). Not justifying why they will, they just will.

Kasabian should count themselves lucky that they get to go on before Bruce, I think. Maybe other stage headliners but are they really Pyramid material. I thought Arctic Monkeys was an odd choice but they were riding a wave of huge popularity. I don't really think of Kasabian as being that popular - maybe Academy sized tours? Have they even done their own arena tour yet?

As for bands around for 30 years of the current crop - I reckon Muse maybe, it's not as common anymore. Bands don't get the same support during their "crap album" stage that they used to. I don't think Kasabian are diverse enough to manage an extremely long career, I'd be surprised, but good luck to them. Oasis keep going because they are essentially just the Gallagher Brothers.

It was obvious with the release of OK Computer that Radiohead were likely to be around for the longhaul. I remember that at the time, it doesn't feel the same growth or longevity could come from Kasabian, whether you like either band or not.

In the week of Glastonbury 2009 the official album charts shows Kasabian's new album at Number 1 and Springsteen's Greatest Hits at Number 3.

Based on this fact alone, I believe they should swap slots and Springsteen should be supporting Kasabian

1 springsteen has been out alot longer and is a great performer

2 i can`t see kasabian record sales ever matching springsteens over forty years

Im the biggest Bruce fan on here, and im not Kasabian fan. I like them.

But even then, id be 10x more likely to buy kasabians new album than Bruce's.

If Kasabian only marketed their new album to people that had never listened to them before, or had just seen them once in concert, then i doubt they would get to the top 10.

i went to see oasis the other week and it was full of people my age (18) which shows their music is timeless and they attract fans from a totally different generation.

i bet if u go to a springsteen gig, 95% of people there would be over 40 year old, which shows hes not attracting fans from new generations which tells you hes not that good.

i bet like around 100,000 others, when kasabian finish they'l leave the pyramid and join me robbin from tents of pensioners watching springsteen hahahaha only jokin!!

there are more twats in the country than non-twats. also twats tend to keep their music purchases strictly top-40, radio1, nme (the twats bible) friendly. This keeps Kasabian and other twattish bands at the top of the charts for longer. It isnt really relevant, it just keeps the twats happy.

Springsteen has sold soooo much because he came from a generation of stadium rock and massive album sales, his current albums sell much and such the same as 'much smaller' acts of today. If acts like Springsteen were not around in the 60's, 70's or 80's and appeared today and modern music tastes matched their music I can say with 100% confidence they would be lucky to sell a quarter of what they did. The current music industry doesn't allow for such sales. The access I have to music now than what my equivalent would have had in in 1975 cannot be compared, it is soooo much easier for me to find what I want, get tickets for what I want, buy albums, listen live, watch live streams etc so I'm not restricted to style, genre, availability etc etc

He is as big as he is because the fish tank allowed it, doesn't work anymore. He does sell out stadiums but I bet 75% of that crowd is 35+, people who are going to see him for the classics of their younger years that's why is record sales have steadily dropped for the past 20 years(even in the US)as his fans are pretty much the same people that were his fans decades ago.

As for the group I'm going with, none of us want to see him and that includes the 45 year olds. Even they call him 'dad rock' lol a lot of people on here refuse to see that he is quite a marmite act, he may be 'The Boss' to many but he is also very boring to a lot of others.
